Just back from dinner with Dive, Mr Dive, Iain, Aligorgeous, Dafttart and Smax. Books were signed, pleasantries exchanged, photos taken. Slightly odd experience (not the dinner - that was good food and chat).

I think I had what is best described as a 'reverse policerule' moment, by attempting to explain why Dive had just introduced me as 'smudge'. What I had intended to say was 'thank you very much for all this fabulous music I've been enjoying for yonks'. Instead the poor chap got some drivel about the neighbor's cat, and a brief exchange about where to put the vowels in the name of the other person I was getting something signed for. Oops.

You guys did better than me. Think all I could manage to say was, "Really?" and "I'm looking forward to Thursday". Twice!!

Fab evening if not a little surreal and brilliant to meet the wonderful Dive and Mr Dive at last. The usual sc.net fun was had and as ever, an amazing array of bizzare topics covered ;-)

Oh and I really am looking forward to Thursday!

smiles as i show him some pictures from hyde park. "Man, what a show"

http://s237.photobucket.com/albums/ff23 ... G_7426.jpg

thank you Mr Dive for the pictures, shame he couldn't do anything about my 'gorilla' pose!

http://s237.photobucket.com/albums/ff23 ... G_7440.jpg
http://s237.photobucket.com/albums/ff23 ... G_7446.jpg

joy was had by all, nearly sullied when i , ahem, freed one of the promotional posters; (http://s237.photobucket.com/albums/ff23 ... G_7409.jpg).
the security bod said "are you allowed to take that?", "Oh yes" i confidently replied. He saw that between us daftart and i were holding a discreet number of freshly signed books and demanded to see our receipts, which after 5 mniutes of handbag searching (daftart's noy mine) it was all groovy and i snuck out with the poster behind my back..

nice to meet iain, ali, dive and mr dive, and, naturally, some members from the london coven... oh, and Mr C.

Thanks smax, and Mr Dive - those are a lot of fun. And smax - you really don't look like a gorilla. Honest.

Glad you caught the 'Daftheart' moment :-)

At one point dafttart was in possession of 6 copies of the book, before realising she'd only paid for three. Natural born shoplifter that one :)
