SC on radio show _These Days_ 89.5 FM - audio available

Postby DirtyMartini on 20 Aug 2009 17:59

Just saw someone mention on Twitter -- ETA: and just now realizing I'm an hour late -- but in case it's still possibly on:

Stewart Copeland on These Days at 10am. He's here for La Jolla Summerfest with a world premiere commission. 89.5FM

Otherwise, alas.

ETA: Scrap all that. Link with audio (playable online and downloadable):

About half an hour long. I haven't listened.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Great interview! Thanks for finding it and sharing, DM.
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.

I'm only partway through listening, but I think you guys will really enjoy this. Some familiar material to many here at times, but really funny, especially when he gets going. Maureen Cavanaugh has some nice questions and observations.

ETA:
[Keywords: La Jolla Summerfest, superstar bands, Animal Logic, composition, "Retail Therapy," The Police, "Gene Pool," composition influences, classical, jazz sucks, childhood, Stanley Clarke, Rage Against the Machine, zither, Orchestralli, drums, hairy-assed silverbacks, chest hair, drummer jokes, composer v. drummer, Savannah Music Festival, classical players v. jazz cats, American sound, improvisation, I knew there was no way the drummer used a chart, studio recording, Reunion Tour, kinetic ritual, Everybody (sic)/Everyone Stares, attention, celebrity, film scores, commercial jingles, all music training for other music, art and craft, currently listening to.]

(BTW, Camille has some pretty amazing stuff.)
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.
