Planning on Bonnaroo? Post Here!

Warm urine...mmmmm...warm urine...;)

I think I'm going to go for the St. Louis show in addition to 'Roo. It's only a five hour drive, and counting lines at the airport I probably couldn't fly in that amount of time. Plus it'll give me some quality time with the Ipod, although I probably won't be able to knit the whole way like I do when I can hoodwink someone else into driving. I may do Tampa or one other, but the dates on most of these shows are not adding up so far...already got a few dive trips lined up in the summer, darnit. Maybe I'll just have to bite the bullet and go to NZ for one of the fall dates. Wouldn't that be too good to be true??

Should we start a new thread tomorrow for folks to report whether they got tickets? I have the feeling this thing is going to sell out FAST.

Reminder...reminder...tomorrow 12 noon EST....www.bonnaroo.com...be there or be square!

I'll be at Tampa most likely, we could meet! Haha.

And now you're scared.

Not really. :) We don't know what the date on that one will be yet, though, do we?

No we don't but hopefully it's the summer which I seriously doubt it will be. It'll most likely be in Fall which if it's over a holiday perhaps I'll be there, but most likely not.

Just posted this in the Ticket Info forum as well for the newcomers, but
found a link to get a lift from the airport to 'Roo:

http://www.targetsport.com/bonnaroo/travel.html

It's the last item on the page. Keep scrolling if you're only seeing airfare and hotel packages.

GET THOSE BROWSERS READY, FOLKS! 10 more minutes...:)

Update: GO HERE: http://www.bonnarootickets.com/

I'm just going to keep hitting 'refresh' on the VIP page until I see a 'buy tickets' link!!

You know, I don't say this lightly, but...ROCK and ROLL!!!

The server was slower than snot for me too. You know everyone and her dog was on there at the stroke of noon.

I'll be interested to see if the fest sells out today. It hasn't sold out first-day in years past, but this is the only general-admission show on this leg of The Police's tour, so it just might.

And since many Police fans are older and have more cash to spend on things like Bonnaroo VIP tickets, I thought it'd be best not to wait around. Folks who buy general-admission will have a great time as well, but I'm pretty short and didn't want to get stuck down in the infield without being able to see...

I just tried getting VIP tix and it worked for me.. the paying part was where I had to stop. Those hotel packages are great but at that price I almost would rather buy the Police package instead.

You mean one of the travel or Hot Seat packages? I don't think there are any Police fan club packages for Bonnaroo...

I've been posting about this for months, as you all know, and you're right - it is a lot of money. But it's a four-day festival, and even at VIP pricing that seems more reasonable than paying nearly $1000 for one of the Hot Seats for The Police only.

You know I love our guys as much as anyone, but if I can also see Wilco, the White Stripes and a ton of other good bands for the money too? It's a no-brainer. But then, I'm not paying for airfare, which a lot of people will.

I'm only going for the hotel package because I have a ton of sleep issues (even a low level of noise will wake me up, even with earplugs). I hear from many people that the VIP camping area is terrific, and if I weren't such a wuss I'd go for it. I know many people who consider the general-admission camping to be the best part of the experience, as well.

Folks could also go in together for one of the hotel packages (they're also available for gen'l admission, not just VIP.) You could throw a couple air mattresses on the floor, and at least you'd have air conditioning and a shower. I've been at the Jameson Inn before and they are *not* going to search rooms and count occupants.

Also, all the hotels are in the central strip of the town of Manchester, which has K-Marts, grocery stores, and other amenities, too...

For all my griping about hassles at previous festivals, I'm pretty jazzed about this. It WILL be crowded, and hot and all, but the quality of the live performances is always just spectacular.

Yeah the whole thing is great, but I need to open a credit card for this. Hah.

If they would just have announced Bright Eyes and Ben Folds and Beck at least, my girlfriend would have been there in a heart beat. This is most disappointing because I love the majority of the bands on there with the exception of The Police--ugh, who needs them?

I feel you, I really do. I wanted to go to SXSW this year desperately, but it's $1000 just for entry-level tickets, and I'd have airfare and a hotel on top of it. Mostly I wanted to see some Australian bands I really love, but for that kind of money I could very nearly go to Australia to see them. I thought about Coachella, too....

That's really the downside of being a huge music fan, isn't it? It's just impossible to see every show you'd like to, even in a huge city or somewhere with a Southwest Airlines terminal. ;)
