OT: The Who touring in 2010

Roger Daltrey says that his upcoming Use It Or Loses It tour is a means to an end to keep his voice in shape for next year's Who tour. During a chat on thewho.com, Daltrey confirmed that he and Pete Townshend will definitely be hitting the road together in 2010.

even tho half the band won't be joining them on stage, it'll still be a good show... tho i dislike pino paladino who they seem to be using on bass....

i saw 'em years ago (with joe strummer & the mescaleros supporting), after Moon but with John still, and they were amazing, Zak Starkey on drums, maybe?

a friend did some work at John Entwistle's country house years ago... john came out and asked all the lads working there what year they were born; and when they finished the job he gave them all a bottle of wine from the date of their birth... RIP john, went with his boots on, as they say.

You saw 3/4 of the Who with Joe Strummer? Lucky man.

Got tix for the Daltrey tour this fall, will post a review. I don't expect great things - seems like his voice has had better days - but tix were $50 and the venue is about ten miles from my house. I figure I had to do it.

it'd be rude not to go, dive...

rog and pete have also said that their next album will be covers, not thebest news but a who album is a who album, unless half the band are dead, of course......

Have you heard the idea for The Whotles? Take what's left from each of the legendary bands and make one that wouldn't quite work.

Pete Townshend; Guitar and Vocals
Paul McCartney: Bass and Vocals
Roger Daltrey: Vocals
Ringo Starr ; Drums.

Song titles, anyone?
One After 5:15
Magical Mystery Tour Bus
Baba O'Rigby
etc etc

I'd love to go myself, but tickets for the Atlantic City shows are not nearly so affordable as much as I enjoy the Borgata as a venue. :-/

Hmph.

That said, I know I'll still go to a Who show when they tour in 2010. Always love me some live Who, even if it's only 1/2 of the band left standing.

I haven't drunk enough yet today to begin to contemplate that.
