Okay, I am asking! And meanwhile smudge is trying to figure out the e-mail link problem (just don't do anything to get us kicked off. I just don't understand the rules. ) I, too. have been on the FAQ link this morning trying to figure stuff out.
seeing as we are discussing soundtracks, does anyone have the Little Boy Blue soundtrack? is that worth purchasing?
I have it. I was about to write back that is fine but not one of his best, but I decided to listen to the 6 Stewart songs again and enjoyed it. It is only about 12 minutes or so of Stewart. Has background voclals on severla tracks with the orchestration. I much prefer Rapa Nui or Leopard Son and not just because they are all Stewart but Little Blue Boy is good.
Although the thread has quite moved on from this point, I recently listened to part of the 4 Days in September soundtrack. That is very similar to the sound of Little Blue Boy. And it all Stewart on the released sountrack.

It oughta be in my box any day now. ;)

Maybe I'm missing something. Maybe my morning coffee has yet to ignite my brain cells, but...WHAT?

Stewart's Pecker {quote]

oh gawd, here we go.........

get the rhythmatist; although it IS crap (unwatchable, some might say), but there's lots of stewart playing cool cool stuff....

i find it quite interesting that JP deutilleux (sp?) who directed (again?) the rhythmatist was he same guy who dragged gordo into the jungle a few years later, introduced him to Raoni et al, formed a charity, then was sued by gordo for keeping the profits from the rainfirest foundation book which they released to raise funds...
poor JP; made a crappy film depsite the brilliant 'ingredients' than got sued by gordo... all he needs to do now to complet the set is break into andy's house and nick his cameras..........

Thanks Prule. I skipped a lot of classes when I took Sound Tracks 101 at Copelandia U. Maybe I should take a refresher course at an adult learning centre. To get most ofthe jokes around here requires a good bit of adult learning.

FYI - there was an email in my inbox this morning with the following subject line:

"Pecker is missing"

Normally, I would delete such a thing immediately. But considering my recent purchase, I opened it up.

"The CD you purchased has been sucked into a vortex of unknown origin. I have made 17 attempts to find it and have failed the mission. I have refunded your money and implore you to go forth with your strange humor and take my apology with you. :( "

This of course, raises a few questions:

1) Does she realize she used the word "sucked" when talking about a CD named Pecker?
2) Why not 18 attempts? Or even 69?
3) How does she know I have strange humor? Because I wanted to buy Stewart's Pecker in the first place?

Damn. This was my shot, and I blew it.

Fret not. I can help you with the missing Pecker [soundtrack].

Amazon has it used for $1.65. http://www.amazon.com/Pecker-Soundtrack ... 842&sr=8-1

This is not one of my favorites of Stewart's soundtracks, but it has some interested pieces. Lots of collaborations with others.

And now that the useful bit is taken care, let the dirty humor flow.

Pecker is worth getting if just for the Stan Ridgway collaboration "Don't Drop the Soap (For Anyone Else But Me)".

The Rhythmatist video film can be a lot of fun to watch. While drunk and with a large group of equally inebriated individuals. I highly recommend the experience.

I saw mention earlier in the thread of the Equalizer soundtrack album but not much discussion of it. For me it's definitely one that I grew to appreciate a lot through the years, though it wasn't a quick favorite of mine when it first came out. Very, very dense and twisty stuff but it rewards repeat listens. I think the lack of live instruments/drums makes it sound somewhat dated today, at least compared with say "Rumble Fish" which is still my favorite SC piece of music and is as timeless as even IMHO. That said I absolutely adore some of the tracks (especially "Green Fingers (Ten Thumbs)") and it's I believe the only "official" recording where you can hear some of the music/themes from "Holy Blood & Crescent Moon".

Perhaps I need to re-engage with the Equalizer and Other Cliffhangers. It has never been a favorite of mine. Kind of disappointing actually since he wasn't writing to go with a film but to make instramental rock music. But perhaps I need to give it another chance. It is a shame that it is the only rleelased verison of the HB-CM stuff.

I need to go back and spend some time with the Equalizer, too. I haven't collected much of it precisely because of that dated sound. I'd be curious to hear something like "Tancred Ballet" with live instruments, but so much of the Eq. music has such an electric sound to it that I find it difficult to appreciate the composition behind it.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

I'm growing disappointed with you bunch. A while ago Schmaffy posted that when she had her one chance to get her hands on Stewart's Pecker, she blew it. And NOBODY commented on this. Is it too much like shooting fish in a barrel?
