Hey kids, am listening to the Foxboro Hot Tubs album (latest Green Day side project) and it's not overproduced and it's DYNAMITE. Go buy it!

Anyone going to the other shows: Show up early. They'll let u into soundcheck if you arrive at like 4 PM with a Verizon phone, Verizon being the tour sponsor. Tales are abounding on the Fan Club forum [aka Idiot Club]...

No word if they're going to do this for Europe yet, but apparently a boodle of people got into the NYC soundcheck, among others. (kicks self for not researching this in advance)

I'm seriously considering changing my flight again...

Can I get an Amen and Halleluiah brothers and sisters!

Wow, I had a few minutes to kill at work before going to lunch, checked the board, and said “Hey a Green Day thread” wonder what is going on with their tour, maybe some nutters have seen them…

Wow, Awesome thread, think the rest of the afternoon will have You Tube up with video from the MSG shows. Thanks Gina, I had a flashback of trying to find the right size pencil/pen to fit in the round part so you could turn and get the tape wound back in!

Well said all, You Go Girls!!!!!!!!!!

Green Day are a great classic band and I dont mean that just cuz they've been together for a minute that kind of classic. i mean they really come and give 100%. I mean they play they have fun and encourage everybody in the audience to be right up there with them.
I was surprised at how young the other fans were around me [babies! most under 16?!?!]

Tre cool is awesome on the drums. he really makes his presence known on the kits.
I have to say that Jesus of Suburbia was the song I was waiting to hear the most and did not disappoint. The kids know ALL the lyrics so there is no mistaking what Billie Joe's point was once you hear almost 20,000 young rockers screaming it at the tops of their lungs, mothers crying for Sept and blushing when they talk about masterabtion - eh, WTF its rock n roll right?

I only saw them once before American Idiot and it was a short set as they were an opener for someone else.
They are very skilled musicians but clowns too.

Dive and I took my 5 year old to the Forum show.

Her review (despite passing out halfway through the set): Mom, that concert was AMAZING!

definitely a good, dynamic, crowd pleasing show. I have to admit- not a huge fan. in fact, an anti-fan for many years. chalked them up as a McPunk wannabe when they came out, but they weathered time. In fact, it was Stewart's review of them in his Dinner Tales that made me give American Idiot a closer listen.

Tre Cool's no Stewart, but he's fun.

I think Tre is a very underrated drummer.

I like Green Day quite a bit.

However, I am very underwhelmed by their latest CD. Maybe I just had too high of expectations given that Butch Vig was behind it, but I think its too much like the portions of American Idiot (which I generally liked a lot) that I didn't like.
