Grazie, Peppe. It was hard to find full information about exactly where Cantata is performing at the festival. After some digging I discovered that they are accompanying Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal. It sounds very cool. I found this pdf that gives more detail.

It's too bad that I won't be in the States then. I can appreciate the close relationship between this traditional music and dance. My introduction to it came from watching my daughter, who is a serious dance student, perform Tarantellas and other such dances as part of a European folk dance class she takes. Not many studios offer these courses here and I'm glad she is learning this stuff to help keep the traditions alive. I would have liked to see this performance with her. Ah well, maybe another time.
