So...it's finally my Flagiversary!!

Postby Schmaffy on 29 Jul 2009 12:29

It's funny: my one-year Flagiversary is ALMOST as long as I had to wait for the rescheduled Philly show!! LOLOL

Anyway, it was a great day, even though I was wound up pretty tightly (right, Bets?) ;)

I thought you might enjoy this little "Flag Duty Checklist" that I sent to DM the day before the show to show her that I was prepped and ready.

I can't believe it's been a whole year. I miss you guys...

Flag Duty Checklist

1. Receive Flag from DM
2. Read rules carefully
3. Prep self to not be asshat
4. Protect Flag from harm - with body, if necessary
5. Coordinate careful signing process
6. Get drunk enough to relax, but not drunk enough to fuck up
7. Explode at Gong
8. Give DM $10
9. Put self back together in order to do the job properly
10. Hold Flag up when house lights are up, being careful not to block my OWN view (i.e. "self-asshattery")
11. Receive Flag point
12. Explode
13. Try to remember to breathe
14. Explode several more times throughout the show
15. Try to get Betsy to stop yapping in my ear about how stressful Flag duty is
16. Get final Flag point
17. Faint
18. Hand Flag to Donna
19. Bask in the Flag afterglow (Flagfterglow?)
20. Call my husband Stewart when I get home ;)

My own selfishness here... I just wanted you to be as stressed out as I was. ;)

I remember Kel chastising me for self-asshattery. Good thing you were so together!

What did you have to give DM $10 for?

Did the hubster give you a light slap every time you called him Stewart?

Happy Anniversary, babe.... miss you too.

Her Philly Flag-spotting thread said something like "After the longest Flag foreplay in history, I've got $10 that says she explodes at gong." HAHAHAHAHA.

Schmaff, I think your flag duty was one of the most eagerly awaited. WE were happy when it finally arrived (9 months late - thankyouverymuch Mr. Stingo)!

And of course, perhaps my favorite blurry photo ever...

7/29/08 was also a fabulous day. Nothing like watching Jeff go OM NOM NOM NOM over special delivery DiBruno Brothers' cannolis...
