Wow. Hard question.

For studio Police - I've gotta say ELTSDIM. Those hi hats are what made me love Stewart's drumming. A close second is CSLY. Several songs come in 3rd place, including Driven to Tears, Synch II (the simplicity of the driving snare), and maybe MIAB. I used to love love love love love No Time This Time, but I've found that I'm not nearly as fond of that song as I used to be. Guess I'm getting old. I dock One World a little bit because I do not think the song itself is as good as Stewart's monster drumming. Murder by Numbers is certainly in top ten for me.

For solo Stewart - Don't Box Me In (if that counts).

Oysterhead - for pure drumming - tie- Rubberneck Lions and Oz is Ever Floating

Live Police - absolutely impossible for me to pick a favorite. Impossible.

Yeah, I know, I've chosen some conventional picks, but whatever. Just being honest rather than trying to show how I'm a Copeland superfan.

PS If you put a gun to my head, my favorite Police song to hear Stewart drum on live is CSLY, any tour.
There is no bigger gong.

Very tough to decide. For the Polcie songs, probably One World, which has such great drumming. For the solo, I have been listening to Gene Pool a lot lately so the Orchestrelli version comes to mind but I can't say that is really his best. Celeste is also great.

Tough decision, can't chose one so here is my list, in no particular order.

Regatta De Blanc - from the opening cross sticking to the crack of that snare, the thundering bass drum, to the cut through ride it's got it all.

Demolition Man - One hell of a rocker. (try and tune out the horns and just listen)

So Lonely (The Live Shard extra from ES:TPIO) Stewart just rips it to shreds.

Red Rain - Peter Gabriel, there's no mistaking those hi-hats.
A mind full of useless information.
Quotes are my speciality.

Wield the spade, Oysterhead.. a surprisingly mellow tune with some great tings and splashes.

Synch II; like EQ liking the driving force of it...

Contact too is a personal fave... the fills!! oh, the fills.

this is a hard one to do at work, now i'm sitting here trying to remember that one with the so-and-so etc etc...

That's a crazy hard question. Just about any song that I'm listening to at the moment is my favourite. Like Bongo, I got to give a call out to Masoka Tanga. I think it's their most underrated song. It blows me away everytime I hear it. Regatta definitely has it's moments, too. Then there's Message, Synch II, and....You see what I mean?
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.

As others have said, a tough question...but these are a few "constants" for me:

1.) Studio version of Driven to Tears...makes me shudder.

2.) Live version of CSLY...frenetic beat that goes right through me.

3.) I Burn for You

4.) Red Rain...unmistakable Stewart. Makes me cry.
To be truly radical is to make hope possible, rather than despair convincing.
