I already saw your shots in your space blueseatlle, and as a matter of fact, you are most handsome than Don Johnson.

:P

My favorite is the pic where you have a big smile.

Well, I hate to be a wet towel, but this idea seems really bad to me. All this money changing hands to buy a single that you already have? All in the name of glorifying The Police??

From the Official UK Charts website:
"As a rough average of the past decade, a Number One record has sold approximately 133,000 copies per week. Sales of 25,000 have been sufficient to reach the Top 10 - particularly during early January when sales are traditionally lower."

So, it would cost roughly $140,000 (US) to guarantee Roxanne a #1 spot on the UK charts. Money well spent? I think not.

Maybe we should pool our money and send it here instead: http://www.live4life.org

Take it easy blueseattle, you are cute.

And about Roxanne, we can do our job, but for sure many other people outside this site, will buy themselves the single, but not the old single, I mean, the Roxanne song from grammys 2007.

I think is a great idea.

Let´s see what happens with a little help of my Copeland's friends...

Most recently the No.1 singles have sold a lot less than 100,000 copies.. In fact since 2002 they have been in steep decline.

In 2006 on average just 30,000 copies sold could get you a number one.

13000 copies is a top ten smash now!

In fact you only needed to sell about 2500 copies to make the top 40 in the UK!

I hope we can do this - I think it would be cool for us to achieve this, just to see what we can do!

Remember buy Roxanne from the Outlandos D Amour album online on April 2nd!!

We all need to buy it in the same week (w/c April 2nd) for us to be most effective!

Until then - spread the word online!

if chris moyles on radio 1 can convince his listeners to get billie piper to number 17 in the uk charts on downloads alone, 'Roxanne' should be a dead cert for number 1. does it need to be a uk based site for the download?

I am not sure if it needs to be a UK based site.. but if you can find one, then I would say use it!

Wikipedia makes me think it's possible!

"On January 1, 2007 the integration of downloaded music into the charts became complete when all downloads - with or without a physical equivalent - became eligible to chart. This saw a few singles gain publicity: Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol and Honey to the Bee by Billie Piper became the first songs to reach the chart after their physical equivalents had been deleted; whilst Blag, Steal and Borrow by KOOPA became the first song to chart without ever being released physically."

How about we make Roxanne the first single with no physical equivalent to reach Number One ?

April 2nd 2007 is the big day - buy Roxanne online then!

Pls - spread the word around the web! If you have a webpage or myspace then use it wisely and spread the word!
