Just to quell the folks who have some concerns for the horses, and there is legitimate argument, just think how great those horses will feel if there is a movie type incident similar to the character Masada (sp?) in the original flick rolling right under those hooves!! That'll teach those nasty humans!
I had a hunter jumper pony(no, nuthin' expensive) growing up, and he really liked attention in the show ring. Horses can have more than a little Ham-bone, like some folks do (not me).

Ben Hur premiere will thrill O2 audiences
By Simon Hayes on March 19, 2009 1:00 PM

Michael Jackson might be stealing all the headlines at The O2 this summer but there's another show heading to the venue that promises to be equally spectacular.

Ben Hur, the story of a Hebrew prince who falls from grace and ends up a slave, will have its world premiere at the arena on September 15.

The story, which features live animals and a cast of hundreds, has been transformed into a two-hour theatrical show by producer Franz Abraham.

The Wharf spoke to director Philip McKinley, costume designer Ann Hoult and writer Shaun McKenna about the production.

remember that I bought ticket for Ben Hur in Dortmund for the one and only reason that it's right around the corner ? a 15 minute walk ?

I just received an e-mail that there won't be any performances in Düsseldorf and Dortmund, but there will be two stadium shows in Gelsenkirchen (there will also be additional London shows in 2010)

don't they know that there's a rivalry between Dortmund and Gelsenkirchen ?? - one just doesn't go there !!
even this town's name is not spoken here - I guess writing it is barely legal...

and now they expect me to change my tickets and make me drive there and back - all the effort I consciously wanted to avoid

Haha. Sorry, D. How far from home is this town that dare not speak its name?

I'll fourth it. Would be great to see you and S - either then, or whenever you can.

I don't really plan to see that premiere in London, but I wouldn't rule it out, either.

Problem is that I've got no holiday left, but I might be able to work around that.
Maybe I'll get rid of the tickets I have and buy 2 new ones for London (if there are any, probably not...).
Will check if it can be done.
