My videos from the Taranta show in Lugano

Hi everybody! :D

I'm new here. My name is Eugenia, I'm from Romania and I'm 19. I've been a Police fan for about a year and I have to say that they've become my favourite band ever, I think they're just fantastic!! (I so wish I could have had the chance to see them in concert...) Stewart's playing is just amazing and so original (not that u didn't know that already lol) and his style is very easy to recognize, even though I'm not a musician myself.

I have been reading this forum for a while and decided to become a member because it's such a cool place. :)

Anyway, I managed to go to Lugano for a few days to see Stewart with the Taranta at the Estival Jazz on July 3rd. It was an experience I'll never forget!! It took several hours and acts (some boring to me) before the Taranta actually came on at around 1 a.m. but it was really worth the wait. I couldn't believe it when I saw Stewart leaping on stage!! It seemed surreal, like watching a recording not the real deal. He was unbelievably energetic from the first song and throughout the entire concert! It was incredible to see Stewart playing his drums and enjoying himself! Even when he broke a stick and all the gestures I had seen in concert videos before were cool to see in reality. He was obviously having fun! :D

Thankfully, because it was so late, some people were going home so I managed to get closer to the front rows which was great. There I was, seeing the maestro performing live - something I thought might never come true! I loved the music too (I had only been familiar with a couple of Taranta songs) and so did the crowd who were dancing a lot. I kept wishing the concert would never end! It lasted for almost 2 hours (unlike the other bands who had about an hour) so that was fantastic! It's been more than a week since and I've still got the buzz from it! Thank you, Stewart and Taranta, for a wonderful concert I'll always cherish!

I took a few short videos during the show. They're not great quality because of my camera, but the audio is pretty good I would say. Here they are:

Welcome oneworld. You've got a great name.
Thanks for sharing those videos. They're terrific.
I have a t-shirt idea in the same vein as our line of imaginary Oyster Head T's. This one would say: Taranta World Tour, perchè no?

In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.

I'm glad you all liked the videos. Wish I had more, but the memory on my camera was almost full.

That's a cool idea, luddite lady. :)
I wish I'd had a shirt at the show, but I don't think I've seen any Stewart shirts anywhere...Think we'd really need some.

Glad you liked the videos. And yes, the show was from about 1 a.m. until 2.50 a.m. I was very tired even before the concert (because the festival had started at about 9 pm), but once Stewart and the Taranta started playing it all went away

Oneworld, I give you the official welcome to our place!
Great, from Romania? Fantastic (I have to start a new thread just to name all the countries represented here).
I was in Lugano as well, too bad we didn't know each other before that day, but anyway, I'm sure there will be another chance in the future one day.
Enjoy this forum!

Thank you very much, Giovanni! This is a wonderful forum with wonderful people from what I've seen so it's great to be here.
It's great that you were in Lugano too! I also hope that somehow in the future I might get another chance to go to a Stewart show and maybe get to meet some of you, as well. That would be terrific!
