wow. it was odd earlier when the news was all over everthing apart from the tv news media who were all too scared to confirm it.... always sad etc etc ... rumours are that he was rehearsing in bel air for the 50 sold out UK gigs and has pushed himself too hard for this one last break which would get rid of all his debts and doubters.... i'm gonna go and listen to the Jackson 5 live stuff....

RIP Michael,

It's a shame all the other stuff overshadows what a legend he was. Still remember buying the Thriller tape and playing it in my father's car. Getting Eddie Van Halen to rip that solo in Beat It priceless.

RIP Michael

I was not a big fan of Michael but I have always felt very sorry for him because I think he was robbed of his childhood and that's maybe why he could not live a very fulfilling life even though he was so famous.

Sad.

It is a sad day. Hopefully, he's now at true peace, a state of being I fear he rarely experienced throughout his life.

I never liked his music, still sad that he died. Not that I'm all that suprised, he's looking worse and worse every year, and hasn't he been in and out of the hospital lately? Ahh his poor kids, they're so young, too! I wonder who will get them.

Very strange. I haven't been a fan of his since the Thriller days, but it's still very strange.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Just sad, IMO. He was such a cute & talented kid. It's so too bad that his story ended the way it did. But easy to understand, given the pressures of fame & all that.

Eh, I never liked him. I thought he stole our boys' thunder in 83. If Synchronicity wasn't up against Thriller that year, they would have cleaned up even more at the Grammys! He really hasn't done much in about 10 or 15 years, and recently he got weirder. Still, it's sad when anyone goes. It's just too bad ihis death stole the thunder from Farrah Fawcett's death. Sounds like her death was horrible from cancer. It's odd, Ed McMahon died the other day, then early this AM they said Farrah was close, so I said to my hubby, "Who's the third?". If you are Italian, you know, lol, that deaths come in threes. So when I heard the news about MIchael, I said, that's the third! Sad though

RIP Michael

A great artist.

A loved her in Charlies angles. She battled a long and hard fight against cancer. A very brave lady

What a terrible news!
I was still thinking about going to one of his shows in the O2 this summer. The only news I read yesterday that there would be more tickets available and that he would start 5 days later. :( :( :(
So sad. He was such an influential figur.

Being 47, I grew up with the Jackson 5, Osmond brothers, then "other" music. I remember the Andy Williams show and waiting for the Jacksons....I was riveted by their insynch dancing more than the music. Hell I remember the damn Jackson 5 cartoon on ABC. I was riveted to MTV last night watching the old videos and how smooth he danced. Very sad ending to a talented but screwed up family....I just got word that he was given a shot of demerol right before he stopped breathing so this may be an allergic reaction or the doctor ODed him....just wait for all the inheritence crap too.
I definitely would have seen him on this reunion tour if he hit the USA....I told sockii months ago...."watch out- he's coming back and he will be big again"

I think music history will definitely treat him well....on par with Presley and Sinatra.

A tired vespa

He certainly seemed to be ill-equipped to deal with a life of fortune and fame. Sometimes there's a fine line between creativity and madness.
