Welcome, Wolis!

If this is indeed the first time you've been made aware that the Rhythmatist is a Full Length Feature Film, well then you're in for a wild ride!! It's...ummmmm....well - how can I put this? It's Stewart - so I love it. And it makes me want to yell "Pygmy babies!!"
Wolis, you should also be aware that while Schmaffy loves it, the movie (as opposed to the soundtrack) is not loved by Stewart himself. I am closer to the Schmaff on this than I am to Stewart on this and it is quite, uh, interesting.

And pardon the threadjack, but Schmaffy, I am getting bouncebacks when I email you since your quota has been exceeded. Clean out your email some.

Must be you. Others could tkae my size just fine.

However, I wasn't sending it properly your way, which I will do in a second.

I have it. I was about to write back that is fine but not one of his bets, but I decided to listen to the 6 Stewart songs again and enjoyed it. It is only about 12 minutes or so of Stewart. Has background voclals on severla tracks with the orchestration. I much prefer Rapa Nui or Leopard Son and not just because they are all Stewart but Little Blue Boy is good.

Months (or maybe years) ago, tamalynx summed up the Rhythmatist film with what I believe to be the most apt and succinct description for it: "so awesomely bad."

Wolis, if you're comfortable with the idea, send me an email with your address, and I can send you a copy: dirtymartiniii at gmail dot com. As always, if Management has a problem with the idea, they know where to find me and only need to shout -- but it'll be quite a long time before Stewart is senile enough to be willing to release this movie, so I'm not real worried.

It's almost hard to believe that there are none.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

I suspect its in Stewart's will that his heirs may never re-release The Rhythmatist.

Ha.. looking around my house I find no cassette players.. how strange.

In fact I have no turntable or VCR.. but I have lots of computers :-)

I opted for the re-mastered CD.. judging by amazons past performance expect a woop of joy from me in about a month!

If you're really jonesing for more Rhythmatist-esque work from Stew, then look no further than the Equalizer DVD box set. Granted, all the music is permanently joined to the show's sound effects and dialogue, but if you can get around that (I do) then you will hear reworked and remixed snippets from his greatest masterpiece in just about every episode!

Ah.. thanks jedsoon.

No harm in watching a little British crime show again that I didnt awtch originally and was not aware of Sc at the time.

I also discovered the Spiro music is very Rhythmatist-esque (as per my other post) but have yet to see if this is available in mp3 or other user-friendly format. I might see if I can find the games - might be worth a play too.

Ahh.. 'pattern' not 'lesson'.. same thing really :-)

Thanks.

PS still no sign of the CDs but thats to be expected.

Yes...The Ryhthatist soundtrack is amazing...but the film SHOULD never have been made...and I think Stewart would agree on that.

Okay, so I will jump in to this topic (I'm not sure what the topic is; I just searched Rythmatist. Yes, very hard to spell/type it) and say that I, too, have just learned the Rythmatist is a full lenth film! Hey, I am just out of the starting gate on the whole SC thing so I just purchased the CD. I am wondering why the film has never been re-released or on DVD. What's the deal? I found a clip on Good Morning America of Stewart talking about the film and showing some clips (in a bated cage playing the drums while lions attacked him? Wow!) and I would love to see it (but not for $63 for a rental copy off Amazon. Or at least not today.) Is there really no hope that it will never be reissued (or not until his will is read, according to someone's comment?) Please say no!

Hey ltwoman. I've got no knowledge of whether it will or will not be re-released, but having seen it I can understand why it isn't widely available. It is odd, bonkers, unhinged, but not always in a good way (i.e. it isn't a Herzog movie), erm..... Bits of it are beautifully shot, the soundtrack is stunning, the plot is indescribable, and the acting has its 'moments'. All that said, if you haven't seen it I can completely understand the curiosity. Whizz me an email...

Edit: Fiddlesticks. Can't figure out how to show a link to my email. Give me a couple hours to sort that out!

Got ya covered, smudge. This whole forum thing is a little new to me (and daunting); anyway, I've just been "reawakened" after watching Certifiable last fall (like, I missed the whole tour. For real). I had even given my albums away... alas (I had to pay $20 to get a new copy of Ghosts In The Machine to frame!) Thanks for the reply.

No joy on the email-link front. Guess that doesn't work on this new version of the forum. Or more likely, I'm being an idiot. Will seek guidance and get back to you.

Sorry for smearing the off topic-ness all over your thread wolis.

Welcome!

Interesting is one way to put it. ;)

As Dirty Martini said, there are plenty of copies to be found if you only ask.

Have fun on Stewart's forum!
