Avatar's left or right?

I really have a hard time discovering who is the writer of a post, because the avatar is on the right side instead of the left.
Anybody else have this problem?
I would really like the avi's back on the left

It's just a way to show off Stewart's Midle Eastern background. (Arabic is written from right to left.)

A totally selfish reason for loving the new forum lay out....It has the same colour scheme and set up as the site my school uses for writing report cards. To any teacher or principal passing by my class right now I look like I'm staying late at school to get a head start on my reports rather than totally goofing off.

I think the same, also that function well the quotes and more perhaps we need some activity rankings like "Police" sherrif stars for whom make more activity posting here and charges in the same way like "Sargent", "Colonel", "General"

ive never actually seen a mb before that uses right side avatars. and I go on about 2 dozen mb's

I like the uniform size of the avi's but find the right-hand location of them rather disconcerting, and unique only to this board out of the many forums I visit.

But, what can I say, I'm left-handed and reading left-to-right on forums/mbs is pretty standard. It does throw me to have to glance to the right first to identify who's talking.

I do agree with the comments about the avatars being on the right. I prefer to see the name of the poster first, starting on the left, and then the text of his or her post. It's just not what people are used to and we do read from left to right whether it's on paper or on a screen (at least, in English, that's what we do). However I could live with it if it's not changed.

I do like the avatars being all the same size. I know that sizing isn't always easy so we had mixed results, but it makes it easier to read.

And a huge thank you for the WHITE BACKGROUND with black text! This is excellent. I am nearsighted (meaning I can see up close and don't use reading glasses) but I still hate to read or post on u2.com because of their poor design choice of red type on a black background for their paid members section.

The home page looks great too!

I kind of like having avatars on the right as it makes this forum unique. I'm all for being different/non-conforming.

I'm all right with the avatar placement, too. What I do have a problem with are the little "new post" "no new post" icons next to each thread. They're harder to differentiate now that they aren't blue for read and bright yellowish/orange (or whatever color that was) for unread. I kinda live by those.


ETA: The team might already have this idea in the works, but I think those little "new post" icons should be lil' green flaggies. No?

I believe everything is fine as is. No sheet-size or stamp-size avatars are fine with me.

But PLEASE, PLEASE with sugar on top, NO RANKS or, worse, REPUTATION points. These ridiculous "classifications" are extremely unattractive and have prevented me to join sites of other musicians I love.
