Happy 2 year Tourzilla Anniversary!!

Postby empty on 29 May 2009 03:20

Today is a significant day for The Police.

On this day in 1977, Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers played together for the first time when they performed as part of Mike Howlett's band Strontium 90. And it was two years ago today that The Police kicked off their 152 show Reunion Tour at General Motors Place in Vancouver, Canada in front of 22,000 fans.

Thanks for Mrs. 'dude's post, Tama. Wonderful read.

I cannot believe that we were just steps away from each other, and we didn't meet. I knew Rusty was going to be on the other side of the arena, so our chances were slim -- but you were right there. That road sign o' mine was with me, Amy, Gina, Con, Dietmar, Gert, James. How far apart were we? That's so retroactively frustrating!
It's fun reading everyone's reminiscenses. TamaD, you UPGRADED at the FC show? SOB! I still feel angst because I got us such crappy seats. I wasn't familiar with the Ticketbastard games yet. D'oh! But, we were there.
Bah, I had a blast. And had you not gotten those seats, I wouldn't have been there in the first place. Thank you.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

You make it sound like I wasn't the only noob-wookie there! :P

I had a lawnchair and was about ten people in. I was like five feet away from where they did the interview with Dietmar and Conroy standing right there. The one they used in the FC DVD.

Glad you all enjoyed MamaTama's blog post from that day.

I was quite nervous and jittery that day, actually. Overwhelmed with anticipation that this show was actually happening, and worrying about my ticket upgrade ploy. It was all a whirlwind in slow-motion. If that makes any sense. :?
