Sting at the Air Canada Center

All in all, a fantastic night. Sting put on an INCREDIBLE show, Vinnie played the hell out of his drums, and Dom and Mr.Piano (name has escaped me at the moment) were great too.

Glad you had a great time, but I thought it was Josh Freese on drums. Its been awhile since Vinnie and Sting played together, hasn't it? Is the Jeff Beck tour over?

*just checked Beck's website - looks like Jeff is taking a break in May*

ETA - According to Stingus, it Vinnie in May and Josh in July.
There is no bigger gong.

Thanks for the reports guys! Sounds like you had an awesome evening. Making me "almost" regret that I missed it.
Ramuthra - safe travels back west.
If I'm holding a beer, some of it is probably going to get on him, you know?

Something I forgot to mention (for those musically-inclined fans) Dominic Miller accidentally played the Fminor 9 chord in the first progression of EBYT instead of the Ab9 chord :P

In my opinion, Sting rarely rocks this hard in his solo shows that I've seen on DVD or elsewhere. MIAB kicked off with a bang and maintained high energy throughout. I felt like every Police song was done justice by the whole band, especially Vinnie on the drums (im a huge vinnie fan), except maybe Roxanne which had too slow a tempo for me.

It really didn't click for me that he played Tea in the Sahara and how special and rare that is. It was really a great rendition, only I saw it coming because of the live set he did for MTV in the early 90s (with dominic, olympic runner "Vinx" on drums, and Kenny Kirkland) in which he does the exact same transition from Walking On The Moon to Tea. Really great though.

EDIT: So on EBYT its supposed to be Ab9/Fm9/Db9-Eb9/Ab9 but Dom played the Fm9 as the last chord instead. DISSONANCE!!

Although I personally am completely uninterested in seeing Sting sing Police songs without Stewart and Andy, I'm glad you guys had a good time. Keep us posted.
