I gotta agree with you Conroy. I HATED Silversun Pickup previously. I thought Lazy Eye was the most monotonous song ever. But Panic Switch really rocks. WHOOOOOO!!!

Mrs. EQ was stunned when she found out the lead singer is a guy, though.
What's funny is I had never heard of Silversun Pickups until about 6 months ago when I found them on a "dead" ipod photo that I got off ebay dirt cheap and resuscitated it back to life with a new battery. I thought the same thing you did at first and hated them. But when Rusted Wheel kept popping up in shuffle mode and then Three Seed, they totally hooked me. But "Swoon" is a lot better. I can definitely relate to "Growing Old is Getting Old" (my favorite song on "Swoon") as 40 is approaching like a speeding train.
Nothing can replace a great live drummer. I've been listening to a lot of Police albums lately, and Stewart Copeland will blow your mind. He's one of the last superstar drummers. If you hear one piece of his kit — a hi-hat, a snare, whatever — you know it's him. And there's just not a lot of guys like that out there today.
Well said.

Thanks for the link, T.
You guys convinced me. I was debating getting the new Silversun Pickups since I was never over the top about them but LOVE the new song. I will have to get their new album.
I'll be the voice of dissent over Silver Sun Pickups. I can't get past the feeling they're sub-Smashing Pumpkins - and I don't think much of the Pumpkins. I think it's the vocals (with both groups) that don't do it for me...

I'm most excited about the new album from The Church, Untitled #23. It got a 5 star review from Rolling Stone and their album from last year, Uninvited, Like The Clouds was just excellent.

I freakin' love Chris Cornell's voice. One of the best singers out there.
But yeah, the new album blows chunks I'm afraid. ):
