We certainly can't allow the Police to lose, especially to that group.

However, the work computer system is weighing in by keeping one Police voter from exercising his franchise. So I will need to cast a vote later.
SC-There are a few crazy people on this planet. Sure sign of that is that they kinda like my music

I voted for The Police, though I have to confess that I love PSB as well...just not as much (but if you haven't heard their new album, "Yes", you are truly missing something wonderful and amazing and OMG my favorite album so far this year...)

(Puts on a tin hat and ducks behind sandbags)

PSB are a wonderful band, in a different time and vein from The Police. I have no idea what this 'battle of the bands' stuff is about, but I'm not about to choose between them. (I don't own a single, solitary PSB album - but some of my best friends do ;-) )

Bastards! Like I have time to revisit every 10 minutes. I'm on a boring conference call NOW, I'd like to stack my votes when it is convenient for ME.

PSB = West End Girls, right? Last time I heard of them was that song. It was a good one and I'm sure this isn't true, but to me they are a one hit wonder. No WAY they should prevail in this contest.

But, hey, I'm open minded about future recordings. Sockii, On your rec. I'll check out their new CD.

They're definitely far from a one-hit wonder. And the new album is amazing--hooky yet incredibly deep lyrically and very mature, while still rocking a crazy dance beat. Easily my favorite release of theirs since "Very".

Get/download the limited edition with the extra tracks if you can, including "Gin and Jag" (perhaps my favorite song from them EVER).

This reminds me of what one local station in DC has been doing lately where they narrow something down to two choices and voting for your favorite. One week it was the best music venue in DC which wound up being the 9:30 club versus the Black Cat. The whole thing is ridiculous. There are so many great venues in DC it is a crime to just pit on against the other. I think they do these things to artificially inflate the number of visitors to their websites so they can charge more for advertising. That's why I'm always suspicious of those best drummer lists that either leave out Stewart or rate him lower than he should be. They know we're a highly motivated bunch who will make round up the troops when we see someone has been wronged and it drives up the number of hits on their websites.

For ALL that is GOOD in the world, please vote.
We can't allow the Police to finally defeat U2 only to be defeated by a couple of West End Girls.

^^^^^^THIS. Especially after what I just went through with the whole Bonnaroo contest thing. To be honest all of these "competitions" are just a joke and nothing but a ploy to drive up website hits and traffic...

Thanks for the reality-check reminder...
