Musician's Forum on TPT.com

Postby blueboy on 19 Feb 2007 00:55

Hi All,

I just made a request today at the TPT.com message boards for a separate musician's forum and they replied right away saying that they would, and asked for a suggestion on the name and description.

I suggested calling the forum "Jam Session", using the description "The musician's hangout for discussing the music, influence and instrumental techniques of The Police, and for connecting with other musicians that have similar musical interests."

I thought I would mention it here as there seems to be a lot of musicians visiting here lately.

I hope you don't mind my posting this here GIO. I plan on continuing to post here, but I thought it would be a great way to connect musicians that might not otherwise meet.

Does this sound like a good idea? I'd hate to have them set it up and then not have anyone contribute.

Given how many musicians from all over the world have been influenced by the Police, I'm pretty sure quite a few people will contribute...

I think this could work, but if people didn't have to enter a credit card number for the free access areas of the message board you would get a lot more traffic to the site. Many bands (like the Flaming Lips) have free message boards that don't require that kind of information.

Andy has guitar methods books and such people could talk about, doesn't he? And it could also be interesting to swap music and so forth.
