I won't be able to wait until next week. A little leery about Simon Pegg as Scotty, but all indications are that its gonna be great. But I'm eeeeeeeeasy when it comes to Star Trek movie. Exhibit A - I dug Nemesis. Exhibit B - I reeeeally dug Insurrection.

I'm a born and bred Trek geek, and I can't wait for my new fix...hope to get out this evening to see it.

Totally psyched about the great reviews it's been getting...Ebert didn't like the new Trek because of the time travel thing, apparently...whatev.

Love Star Trek. Watched all the tv episodes when I was a kid.....special effects were pretty bad. Once there was an alien that was a plastic garbage bag...but it was great, my brothers and me were totally hooked on it.
Hoping to see it with them if they'll behave themselves.
As for Shatner, he's greatness, and very versatile, and FUNNY. Ever watch Boston Legal? What a hoot he is.
Can't wait to see the "new" Star Trek.

I use to watch every Saturday morning the animated series!
Looks like the old rule will be broken since this is number 11.
Of course the last Geneation was ten and that was pretty weak.
But best are probably II, IV, VI, and the eighth(can't go wrong with the Borg)

I give Shatner a pass because every year at our local Burbank equestrian center he does a huge event/Horse show. All the proceeds, and the dinner is big bucks for tix, go to programs that work with special needs children that as part of therapy ride horse. This year Nimoy was there as well as the cast of the new movie, and Willie Nelson did a concert.

He’s been doing the event every year for a long time, and many, many kids have benefited from it. The horses they need are of course not cheap and he has done a lot to see these kids and programs get the horses they need.

Plus he is Captain Kirk, what else can you say?

I love that he's friends with Henry Rollins. Were I not sleepless from 4 AM storm warnings I'd find and post the link to a song they recorded that's a real hoot; maybe later.
