Other Concerts

Postby Throb on 28 Apr 2009 19:47

Tonight one of Mrs. Throb's best friends will be seeing Springsteen at the old Philadelphia Spectrum. He is playing tonight and tomorrow there, one of the last concerts there before they tear it down in the fall.
A lot of history there, Bruce has done 30 shows there, the Police had one show there in '82.

Saw Wilco open for Neil Young there back in December. Great show. Sound a little boomy, though.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Boss myself at Bonnaroo....and the band, natch...

Just back from vacation, saw Fleetwood Mac in Philly April 15th, boy they were on fire after their 2 week break.

Mick was a madman pounding those skins.

The Specials come highly recommended. Shit! That was an amazing gig. (Sorry Gina). To tired and sweaty to write more. I think young Smax may have a word or two in due course.

Cannot wait for the reports from the Londoners!

I have to work work work but the upcoming fun I have on the table includes:

The Damned (rescheduled show!) on Tue. 5/12
PJ Harvey 6/2
Bonnaroo 6/11--6/14 (Maybe catching X on the way in and Elvis on the way out)
Rothbury
and, wildly hoping for All Points West!

yeah, that was REALLY 'kin good.... they played the hits and the misses.

it was like a harrington convention, so happily i was wearing mine. number two crops with some salt and pepper were also de rigueur (snap).

terry seemed genuinley 'appy as did lynval et al. i've been to brixton sold out gigs before but this felt SO packed, a suede head in the toilets said that it was 'cos everyone was a little fuller of figure than 30 years ago (i woud have been 4 so had to but agree)... verklempt. (loves gina for enabling me to attend with smudge n daftart. although i'm now regretting selling my tix for next week...)

ETA: how much i enjoyed the disco ball during Nite Klub. man, i love that tune....

HAH, are you kidding, I'm SOOOOOOOO glad it was great!!! GO TEAM SKA!

And ya, I can just see the fashions from here--the fellas have been talking on the boards about what they're wearing to the gigs for *months* I tell ya, it's wonderful and its hilarious at once! Kinda like another site I know <giggle>

<<<I still have the right shoes if the occasion ever arises again <grin>

But according to a poster named Jett Rink (aka Roddy) they're looking forward to the US, so it gives me much hope!
