Thanks again, all. Nope, no real special plans - stinks when the day in question falls on a Monday, and it's not a round-number birthday. Plus, I've been running around like crazy lately so I think I'll just stay home and play XBox. 
(Which'll be an improvement from the day so far: I just opened the door for what I figured were the flowers Mom sends every year but it turned out to be Mormons - never any fun to get rid of, and I usually never open the door without checking the spyglass, but I was on the phone at the time....which also meant one of the cats got out and...on and on. This after having been blamed for what turned out to be a corporate accounting problem by a bill collector earlier in the morning. plus it's cloudy, freezing, & raining for a change...
But, hey, no tornado warnings.)
ETA: On the bird droppings: Try bleach & water. It'll help with the smell at least....didja get any photos? Not of the poop, of the birds
