New York / Los Angeles & Dietmar

Postby Susan on 29 Apr 2009 04:23

Not much alcohol was consumed at Uncle Nick's or at Fat Annie's.
Dietmar did get his cheese curds tonight :)
Julia got photos.
They walked him all over lower Manhattan today including the police museum. (I'm a native New Yorker and had no idea we had a police museum)! I think I need one of those stay-at-home vacations.

After dinner at Fat Annie's, Mimi, Dietmar and Nancy and Kellie and Moe went home. Conroy, Julia, Amy and Gina and I went to Tir Na Gog for one round. It was really hot these past two days--not ridiculously so but it's abnormally hot for April, so everyone was a bit tired from that and they had been out all day (I was at work).

I pointed them in the direction of their respective hotels and hopped on the train home. What a nice way to spend a Monday and Tuesday evening! It was so nice to see a few Nutters again.

after seeing the Police museum (they have their own green flag!) we met Zecca from the Cherry Vanilla band for lunch and we had a nice pizza together

he led us through the part of Manhattan where he lived and eventually took us to CBGB's / or what's left of the place
they still had walls with fragments of hundreds or thousands of old posters / couldn't find any Police poster there, though...

that's why we were tired so soon, walking and walking in the heat, and for this time of year it was REALLY hot

Fat Annie's was rather loud and could have been a mistake to be there / until the Cheese Curds arrived :)

so I'm refreshed now and looking forward to meeting people again / whatever we're doing

Nothing is so bad that a few good cheese curds can't fix. :D

Glad you're having fun, D!

Getting into my car without Dietmar this evening felt very strange and lonely! I miss my house guest, but I know he's in excellent hands!

Hope you all get some rest tonight before your early morning trek to the airport!

Enjoy the rest of your trip, Dietmar...and come back soon! It was great having you here!
