STEWART and the Taranta on July 3rd in Switzerland!!!

Postby njperry on 24 Apr 2009 21:27

That's great news. So glad to see Stewart performing again.

No way I can make it there or Italy this summer.

Wonder if he be doing performanaces other than Night of Tarantula (which is what I assume this is). For example, Gizmo???
SC-There are a few crazy people on this planet. Sure sign of that is that they kinda like my music

Hmmm, depending on the dates, I may have just enough frequent flyer miles to get over there (or at least somewhere in Europe and then EasyJet or similar to the final destination). I was surprised at the number of frequently flyer mile dates still available for the end of June/beginning of July when I just checked. Nutter Villa in Italy?

It could happen; I will call Vittorio Cosma for that.
Remember there is also INDEEPANDANCE on its way to be performed again!

Darn Swiss! They already have the best chocolate. And now they have Stewart and "Notte della Taranta".

What about a "Notte della Taranta nella Toronto"? It's grammatically incorrect, but I still love the sound of it anyway.
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.

Taranta in Switzerland

Postby valmarani on 27 Apr 2009 20:27

Stewart will play in LUGANO (not Mendrisio) on the 3rd of July.

The concert is FREE ENTRY as they play in the too-little square of Lugano "Piazza della Riforma". There might be giant tv screens all around the centre of Lugano.

The concert will be broadcast live on the RSI2 Channel (this means that there are no chance for people abroad to watch it live because Swiss Tv broadcast are always scrambled.)

See ya in Lugano!

I hope someone is able to record this.

ETA By "scrambled", you don't mean that it can't be recorded, do you?

Thank you for the additional info. I see from checking the rail lines that Lugano is only about an hour from Milan by train? Very cool!

vespa and I are just waiting to find out more info, but this could possibly work out for us really well if something else isn't announced in Italy "proper" for this simmer.

Might be able to do it with my frequent flyer miles, but I have to stay a week. Or fly into someplace like London and take a discount airline like Ryanair or EasyJet from there. I also would like to know if there might be other performances before deciding for sure.

A note of caution for anyone contemplating travelling for this (and who wouldn't if time and resources permitted?). Best deals if flying intercontinental will be to major hubs. Just watch your backs with short hop flights within europe on small airlines. And to be certain, take the same precautions with international carriers. They are all businesses slightly on the edge.

In the UK if you pay for a flight/service with a credit card and the airline/service provider goes tits up then you can get your cash back. Not sure how it works in other countries, but please, please make sure you have either insurance or something, just in case.

Sorry to sound like a prophet of doom - but I'd be gutted if an airline went bust and anyone here (or anywhere) lost out.

Thanks Valmarani for the info. Is there any chance you can record the broadcast?
