Thanks a million DM! I might have not found out about this until too late.

Luminato is a way cool arts festival with events all over the city for several days. A lot of them are very avant-garde and/or fuse different art forms together. When I heard about Indeepandance I thought it would have fit in well at Luminato. Yonge-Dundas Square hosts the top events, so it sounds like Andy's exhibit is one of the headliners.

I just told my son about the panel discussion and he wants to go. He was blown away by Andy when he saw The Police with me in Saratoga. Andy is his hero. (I wonder where he gets this rock star admiration thing from?)

The tickets are reasonably priced but I have to deal with the devil, er I mean, Ticket Master to get them. Oh well, I'll do it for my son.

Any other local Nutters up for showing Andy a little love in June?

I looked into it a bit more and was happy to discover that the works by Andy and the other two photographers will be on display in this free open air venue for all ten days of the festival. Yonge-Dundas Square is Toronto's attempt at NYC's Time Square. The main difference is that it's an actual public square (no cars) where free concerts and other events take place. Being on the corner of a key downtown intersection, it is very busy with pedestrian traffic.

Looks very cool, llady. For about a minute I was thinking about us driving up since I would love to hear Andy speak and the panel is on a Saturday -- but then I remembered how long the drive to Toronto is. So I'll look forward to your and Boy's reports!

If the "we" means you and Mo, then I totally understand. If the "we" means you and Nancy Road Warrior Rose, then I say: what are you talking about long drive to Toronto? It's like a little trip to the mall for Nancy! A mall requiring a passport and a different currency, but still. Just go straight and make a sharp right at Niagra Falls and you're there. Plus, we all know how much Andy was crushing on Nancy during the tour. He'd be thrilled to see her again.

Hmmm...another thing...Sting is in Toronto for the hospital benefit concert the last weekend in May. Then, Andy's in town the following weekend....hmmm....I better keep the weekend after that one free for Stewart's visit. Now, excuse me while I check the Toronto events calendar for any drummer/composer/filmmaker/suburban dad festivals the weekend of June 13-14.

I could only hope that AndyS would ever slide thru CIncinnati for photos books or music forums (we did have Ben Verdery last year, so ya' never know). Enjoy it all up in Toronto!

Hurray! The Bongonator has resurfaced! I was starting to worry about ya.

If I recall correctly, you're a big Daniel Lanois fan, BB. As part of Luminato, he's giving a free concert at Yonge-Dundas Square the day after Andy's panel discussion. He'll be playing slide guitar. The show starts at 11 a.m.

Another cool work is a newly commissioned opera and liberetto based on works by Edgar Allen Poe. Given DM's thread about Stewart's similar work, my heart was in my throat for a moment when I first noticed this event. But alas, Stewart doesn't seem to have anything to do with this one.

And, Larissa, the name Danny Clinch should be familiar! His photo gallery is featured along with Andy's on the second DVD of Certifiable. He is also the photographer responsible for all the pictures in the little booklet that comes with Certifiable. I can think of a lot of questions that I'd love to ask him, but none of them are related to the harmonica.
