Gio, don't kill me - This post will include a link to the article:

http://tinyurl.com/342cg3

but guess what!! There are also some answers to some questions!!!!

The Call:
Actually (Sting's) manager, Kathryn Schenker, made the calls. She sprang the idea on Mr. Summers and Mr. Copeland at a meeting where they expected to discuss plans for reissues of the five Police albums, which will mark the 30th anniversary of the band’s formation in 1977. “They were so shocked it wasn’t funny,” Ms. Schenker recalled. “They were so happy and excited but very, very, very, very surprised.”
ES:TPIO The Sequel!!!! Here's hoping the film crew was headed by one Jordan Copeland:
The Vancouver rehearsal studio where they eventually reunited was a long way from the Police’s do-it-yourself beginnings in punk-era London. A film crew was on hand to make the inevitable documentary, with bright lights, makeup for the band members and a camera on semicircular tracks rolling around their setup. A caterer served lobster for dinner.
and what may yet be my very favorite Stewart quote this year:
“When we arrived here in Vancouver, we had big musical problems. And we didn’t resolve them by shouting at each other, by getting angry at each other, by power plays, by any of that stuff. We resolved our musical issues by comity. The music was sick, and we had to use our social bond to get through and try different solutions to the musical problems.

“It sounds cool that angst, sturm and drang, produces music with fire. No. We’re going to get to fire by love. Because we love each other.”
SQUEEEEE! :)

EEEK!

Great, and i mean GREAT, article! Did you spot Stew quoting himself from Danny Q's book?
“We started out like a high school band last week. We got to be like a college band. Yesterday we started to sound like a bar band. Today we sound like, ’O.K., we could earn a living like this.’ But we are not yet playing like we deserve to play in a stadium."

In the MP3 interview Sting kind of hints that there could even possibly be a new album...just not this year due to time constraints.

Could things get any better than this????

Yeah. I am *dying* for a Dinner Tales update. But you have to figure STEWART is pretty busy right now! I'm sure we'll get one eventually, though.

Is amazing to read these kind of articles...on the other side, after the great front page in main newspaper of Peru and including their reunion and rehearsals at all local TV news, today I read a bad information about our heros...

The source is DPA agencie from Germany, but published into the show business section in the same peruvian newspaper that gave THE POLICE the front cover past week.

In some words it titled: "Fights follows THE POLICE" with the pic of them in victory pose and a comment saying: "Don't have peace, without a month together and they hate each other again"...

Hamburg (DPA) Before their historic and celebrated performance at Grammy Awards, Andy Summers, Stewart Copeland and Sting "The Police" continue with their fights.

"Just Stewart, Andy and me join and play, dishes flies. Inclussive at nowadays" says Sting to Stern.com internet version of german magazine.

Like in the eighties, Sting and drummer Stewart Copeland continue with their fights for artistics aspects. "We could kill each other for tiny problems. Sometimes for a chord could be start a great discussion".

When Sting decides on the reunion, their mates and wife didn't think he spoke it seriuoslly. "I believe my wife thought I turn mad". Stewart Copeland says: "When Sting call me, I thought he was teased me"

The trio won't record new songs. Making rehearsals from the old ones for the world tour bring them lot of problems. "Sting forgets a long time ago lot of the old lyrics" Commented Copeland.

The Police World Tour starts on Vancouver, Canada May 28th

Pick up the hardcopy if you can for two photos you won't see online.

I've scanned them in here:

(There's also a big full page ad for the MSG shows in the Arts section I'll scan in later.)

Great press articles... but I think the most important space coverage dedicated to THE POLICE reunion at media around the world was at peruvian newspaper "El Comercio" who gave them a front page, big title and color photo on stage, also at the interior pages about Grammy Awards at The Police pic in color in the center fold and mentioned our lovely band was the premium gala of the event, besides peruvian Tv news THE POLICE coverage in titles 8)

PS: My newspaper with The Police on front cover was sended to Joerg of Germany, but I took some pics of this edition.

That article was great. I really hope they do record, it sounds like Sting might really enjoy the idea. Here's hoping there are friendly faces on stage and behind stage.
