Songs in which Stewart's sings

Songs in which Stewart's sings

Postby njperry on 16 Apr 2009 18:30

I decided to put a list of released songs in which Stewart sings more than background (or at least where he chants in the case of Wield the Spade.)

Did I miss any songs?

Police:
On Any Other Day
Does Everyone Stare (first verse)
Miss Gradenko

Klark Kent (some of which were released as SC rather than KK songs):
Too Kool To Kalypso
Strange Things Happen
Thrills
Excesses
Love Lessons
Office Girls
Away From Home
Don't Care
My Old School
Ritch In A Ditch
Stay Ready
Guerilla
Yo Ho Ho

From the Rhythmatist:
Serengeti Long Walk
African Dream
Gong Rock Remix

Oysterhead:
Wield the Spade

[ETA: added Does Everyone Stare]
[ETA2: added Miss Gradenko after the discussion here]

I don't think that is him at the begining of Does Everyone Stare but I could be wrong. I seem to recall a discuss here on that point.

I can hear him in the chorus of Roxanne (album version)... Makes me think he and Andy sang on other tracks of the first album as well...

I was chastised to think it was Stingo. The first verse is Stew, the second certainly Stingo

Elvis Costello Featuring Stewart Copeland: What's wrong with love peace and understanding (live) LOL!

Also the "don't" in Don't Box me In sound like Stewart

Indeed. What are the odds of finding another 'american accent modified by overseas living' voice on the streets of Leatherhead at short notice? (For the benefit of anyone who doesn't live in Surrey - and truly, you are blessed - the answer is 'you've got a better chance of accidentally recording an in-tune snatch of a random, radio broadcast, operatic tenor'. )

OK, I have listened to Does Everyone Stare again and concede that it is Stewart.

I will add it to the list.

Any other songs?

Some shows in Tourzilla "That's my soul up there" during KOP.

8) :D :D :D :D :D I loved it!!!

Then the Treaty's gag order went into effect, or a change in the arrangement.

PS: Nick, you should absolutely add Miss Gradenko. Malgord didn't want to sing it.
