FINALLY, Spectacle to air on CTV

Postby luddite lady on 23 Feb 2009 03:24

I just saw a commercial for Spectacle with Elvis Costello on CTV. The show will begin airing on April 3. There was a brief clip from the show with The Police, as well as Elton John, Rufus Wainwright. etc. I don't know what the date is for The Police show. I checked the CTV website, but there's still no updated news.

I saw most of the show last night. It was the one with Elton John. Elvis is a good interviewer. I like how indepth and yet broad ranging the interviews are. I wish I knew what night the boys will be on. I had to miss part of last night's show to pick up my daughter from her part time job. I warned her already that she'll have to find her own way home if she works the evening shift on the night the Police are on Spectacle.

Thanks a lot Max! That's perfect! The store where my daughter works won't even be open next Friday. I'm in the clear!

*night before bump*

I'm hoping that one of you more technologically equipped and inclined Canadian Nutters will record tomorrow's show. It would be interesting to see if it is any different from the American or British versions. If the Canadian program is editted differently, I'm betting there's an increase in Stewart's beaver count. That would certainly make it more Canadian.

The show was great! I don't have the DVD for the British or American shows. So, this was my first viewing of it.
Man, it was marvelous to see all those familiar faces in the audience.
And it almost choked me up to see the boys playing again. It all brought back so many memories.
Seeing Stewart play with Pete on "Watching the Detectives" was also a dream come true.
I really hope somebody recorded it. I would have loved to help in that department but all I got is a TV hooked up to bunny ears and a sketch pad.
If any Canadians missed the show on CTV there are some encore airings this weekend on the cable channel Bravo!

Hi LL! Happy Easter.
I really enjoyed the program as well. It was also my first viewing.
Wish I could say that I had the technology to record it, but no such luck.
Will certainly help you with the sketch pad

Youtube just has a 48 second clip of Elvis and the boys. I love Sting's favourite songs: what a sap!

I really liked the format of the show bringing them out separately. Also I cant believe THE POLICE played watching the Detectives WOW WEE I've thought about THE POLICE playing that song as well as anything by the BEAT and Armageddeon time The Clash's Version :P

Sorry LL, there isn't an increase in Stewart's beaver count.

In the American broadcast they aired a bit of Certifiable and Stewart talked about Jordan and in the Canadian he didn't.
