Off topic but I know most of us are always in for a good cause, so here's another one that could use your support tomorrow:

http://www.diningoutforlife.com/

Restaurants across North America tomorrow will donate 30% of diners' food bills towards AIDS service organizations. The program began in Philadelphia in 1991 thanks to an ActionAIDS volunteer and now has expanded to include 46 different cities!

It's a great excuse to get some friends or family together for a night out, either at a favorite participating restaurant or for a reason to try somewhere new. Visit the website and see what restaurants are participating in your area!

If any Philly-area folks are interested in joining me and some friends, we're going to El Vez tomorrow night for mucho Mexican and margaritas!

We were just thinking of going to Abruzzo night to Il Fornaio tomorrow. Thanks! That will make those Spaghetti alla Chitarra even more enjoyable!! 8)

Ah sucks. I didn't realize they did it different dates in different cities. I'm so used to the May 1 date here in Philly, I didn't even think of checking (or posting this earlier.)

My bad.

Oh well, mark your calendars for next year if it's too late in your area for this year!

Sockii, you and your crew will just have to eat and drink your way to a REALLY big bill to cover those who can't participate.

Oh hey, it's about another year now, and I'm just wondering if there are any Philly-area folks who might want to meet up for this year's event, which will be on April 30:

If you go to the main website, you can see the dates for other cities...a lot of Cali locations are going to be doing it on the 30th as well...

Sweet.

Last year I went to El Vez with some folks, which was ok but really noisy and crowded. Of the places participating, I know I enjoy

Beau Monde
Matyson
Friday Saturday Sunday
Continental
Dahlak
Mercato
Mixto
My Thai
Restorant Panorama (though more for the wine than the food)
Silk City (though kind of out of the way)
Twenty manning

...and there are others on the list I'd be up for trying out too, depending on folks' interests.
