Its a bit selfish, w/ the aftershocks, and only a few more survivors found today, but I did hear that both of my friends over teaching in Italy this spring are safe & sound! it took a little longer to find out, so got a little anxious......

another

Postby giovanni on 07 Apr 2009 21:52

today another big earthquake happened in the same areas...I haven't seen the news yet as I was at the hospital as today my mum had an urgent operation, as some main troubled surfaced...she's ok now after 4 hours of surgery, I just came back. We just got to wait some days to understand the real situation, but for what doctors said, it should be ok.

Thinking of you and your Mom, Gio.
Hope she has a speedy recovery and is home very soon.

 woow I don't heard about the earthquake... Is it a big one? all my thohughs and best vibes to Rome and Italians... I know Italy is a geographical zone fragile for earthquakes, the same as Japan, Pakistan, China, Mexico, Peru, Chile and California... hope all are ok... and your mom illness is controled... Huges from Lima,

Jose

Gio. I hope your mom is ok. Speaking of your mom ~ does she like her new kitchen?

It must be a terrible feeling when you lose your home.

Your mom is in my prayers, Gio, especially w/ those aftershocks. I hope that she gets the right rest/peace for a thorough recovery.
And your country is in my prayer/thoughts, too.

Updates

Postby giovanni on 12 Apr 2009 08:00

Thanks for all your messages; she was recovered urgently as they found a cancer in her bowel; she's ok now, or at least the operation went well; now we just have to wait a few more days to give the definitive positive opinion, but she's reacting very well and the following day she already wanted to stand up (of course she could not!).
She is too tired to stay in bed, but as you can imagine, she's forced to stay in bed; I go to the hospital two/three times every day, I'm going right now. Her spirit is good. She's 78 and at her age is really god that she's reacting like that!

On the other side, the new look of SC.net that we are going to upload very soon, is almost ready; it's definitely different, we decided to change something; basically we wanted to improve what we already have, taking something out and improving some areas. We hope you will like it.
We got some help from some special friends, but we can say we thought about you all in making it better, thinking about the way you 'use' this place.

Happy Easter.
