OT- Why Grohl kept his love for 2112 a secret

Postby TheEqualizer on 19 Mar 2009 22:54

Just thought this was funny:

QUOTE

Grohl also went on a confessional tear about his fondness for Rush back in his high school days. Hearing “2112″ for the first time, he said, was an epiphany. “It was, like, woah - drums! You could be, like, the leader, then take over the world.” But Grohl admitted he had to keep his fandom secret due to the band’s “questionable” cover art. “On the back [of the album], they’re all in white silk, one dude is in a kimono, and the other has these gnarly Cameron Diaz disco pants where the seam is perfectly [lined] in the middle of both of his balls,” he explained. “I didn’t tell anybody that I liked this band because of that dude’s fuckin’ nuts! I was afraid my friends would beat me up.”

END QUOTE

I like how Dave refers to Peart as nothing more than "one dude." :D

As a Rush/Peart fan, that picture is a bit disturbing to say the least.
I'll bet it's the very same poster Kellie has at her house! :D

Hah, Ill have to dig it up but in another classic interview, one of my all-time faves, he mentioned how he learned to play the drums by setting up pillows all around for the different kit parts...the music was Rush <grin> Now we know why he only mentions it here and there <grin>

Those are some SERIOUS F*IN NUTS I must say so myself!

Yeah, that's one for right over the breakfast table. The table gives me something to hide under.

Looks like Geddy's having a pretty shrinking reaction there himself.

Thanks for the quote, EQ.

Here I go all languagy again. The correct term is moose knuckle. Camel toe is the female variety. Either way, it looks like he was just following your suggestion in your sig line, Chatchka.
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.

I bet we could make a whole topic of "'70s dudes showing off their package." There's a good one of Greg Rolie on one of the Journey covers (Departure, I think).

Bon Scott alone could fill an anthology.
