Yeah, I'm totally psyched for Dallas - that's a nice central location for us Statesiders and I have friends in Texas who are already psyched to hear the news.
Thanks Jeff! Great news to greet my return to internet free time after a crazy couple of weeks of work!

I checked out the DSO web site, and it looks to me like it's likely to be Fall 2010, not Spring 2010. However, they do have Elvis Costello playing with the DSO 28-29 May 2010:

A few weeks ago we went to a Chicago Symphony concert (with Esa Pekka-Salonen as the guest conductor) that included a seriously awesome classical percussion piece: Bartok's Music for Strings, Percussion, and Celesta:

Lots of gong, and other great clangy noisy things. Kind of an early 20th-century gamelan  ...

Just an FYI to all about this show. Stewart is not scheduled to perform live in the show. It will be his prerecorded score which will accompany the live action and drama.

So, not conducting a live ensemble from the rear of a horse drawn chariot? Sensible chap.

ETA: Thank you kindly Mr Seitz, for the original - slightly unexpected - information, and the clarification. Has anyone told Tama they are the wrong kind of chariots? :-)

I'd still bet/vote that Stewart worms his way into a soldier or pirate costume somewhere along the way. Just cuz.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

I am ABSOLUTELY down for (up for?) Dallas in 2010. I will be just as stoked to meet all the nutters as I will to see Stewart.
