New SC Project

I've almost got enough frequent miles to go to the London premiere and it only costs 30 bucks to make up the difference and my boss is moving over there so I'd probably have a place to stay. Almost ready to pounce on it.

Bah. Yeah, like others, I'm really trying to cut back on spending this year. My investments are so far under water it's not even funny. Doesn't help that the best tix to this thing are over US$150...stupid exchange rate.

We'll see how it goes in a month or two. If a couple things bounce back I might be able to swing it.

Egg-zactly. Although honestly? The lute record is the first Sting album I've really loved in yeeeeears.

Luddite Lady: good catch! The quote mentions that his most recent work includes "a Concerto for Gamelon and Orhcestra for the Dallas Symphony in 2010"

Sockii: OK, you win the internets today for your first post in this thread <clutches self>

FYI: I'm pretty reluctant about animal performances myself but under "Animal Protection" theres a fairly extensive assurance for the best treatment of the animals for those concerned...

Under the FAQ: "The original soundtrack will be available at showday" [cd]

Now, I say this with love and affection: Am I the only one who thought, "well he managed to top a lute album." Sting better keep his pants on! STEWART won this one.

But NOT for "career suicide," as Stewart has joked. Just that right now I think Stewart's winning the "most unexpected, but very cool project by a Police member--and a project that under any one else's hands would not be as good" contest.[/quote]

I was thinking along the same line this morning. Stewart and Sting are so competitive that I don't think the reaching-back-in-history aspect of this contest will end until we see Sting on stage banging rocks together and dressed in a Fred Flinstone costume. In which case, Stewart still wins.
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.

WOW!

Yeah, I think Stewart has Sting beat on the "What do I do to surprise people? Or surprise myself even?" front.

Well, Sting DID sing the Flintstones theme song on camera. I can't find it on YouTube but if you look at the "Bring on the Night" DVD it's in there. He knew all the words. In 1985 this was quite shocking to me :)

Back from exile and this is what I find!

I've never seen Ben-Hur, so I'm excited to see how Stewart brings it to life as a BH-virgin :D

Thanks so much for the news Jeff!

(Whistles When The Saint is Marchin' in) - Thank you Mr. Seitz!!

Ben Hur was the first movie I have ever seen, it lasted 6 hours and people were bringing picnic baskets.

While I fully understand how Stewart fits in the project perfectly, I am presently chewing a bank account seeing that there are no US dates.

How can you do this to US (in both senses), Stewart????

that is crazy cool!

I cant believe there is only 1 date in Italy?

never seen ben hur but Im sure Stewart can make awesome.

I like how on the artist page they mention he's also doing concerto for gamelon & an orchestra for dallas symphony in 2010.

Maybe could get to one of those as I will not be going to europe this year unless I can hitchhike with a backpack!
