To be honest, I'll be a little disappointed if Stingo brings out his lute. The reason I'm going to this show is because my dad knows the person who's organizing everything for the "Canadian Tenors" and asked her if she could get me a backstage pass and she said she probably could.

I'm gonna have to write myself a script otherwise I'll sieze up and not be able to speak in front of my idol. That would suck! I think I might wear my Mickey Mouse sweater, the one he wore in the Zenyatta era and see if he notices.

LL that's a great idea! I'm gonna have to see how much time I have before I get there, I'm also going in for a guitar lesson with some guy that day but I'd love to meet up if I can

Good luck for your backstage! 8) Be ready with your camera, permanent pen, and something where you could get Sting's signature....also mentioned him about your band and you are the singer... don't be shy and if you can sing a bit of your song or a "Police" cover you do it better... also approach and enquiering about some tips of vocal resources, composing process and go with your Ipod for hearing him your band... Cross my fingers for you getting an unbelievable night :wink:

PS: Post it here your pic with Sting :roll: and if you have time giving him my regards saying "Jose from Peru, the same Stewart mentioned at the end of 2007 Police Chile Concert, wait your visit to his country the same did Andy last month" :D

A week of the event bump!

Did you ever get the back stage pass, Ram? Is anybody else from 'round here going to the show? I decided not to go because I know hearing material from The Police without all three performing would be too much of a let down for me. I still like Stingo's early solo work though.
Ms. Crowe I can take or leave and tenors I appreciate in only very small doses, not packs of four.

Having said that, it turns out that I'm free on Thursday afternoon and could meet you downtown before the gig if you have time, Ram. I'll shoot you an e-mail with more details.

If you have a CD of your Demo's, bring it and give it to him or his tech.

I bet it's fun to listen to a raw demo in your limo.

Dominic has on the Dates section of his website this show listed as date with Sting.
Also has July 18th Summer Festival Quebec City Canada
and the July 19th MGM Grand at Foxwoods Ledyard USA as shows with Sting.

So it sounds like for '09 shows Sting plans to have the band.

Hey guys!! I haven't had access to a computer for the last week but I finally found one. Here's the deal: No backstage passes were acquired

HOWEVER! My dad knows the manager of the Canadian tenors (who im quite indifferent to as well, LL) who is a relatively successful producer and will obviously be backstage and have some pull with Stingo's people (maybe). So he's expecting me to come find him after the show and I'll be giving him a demo, and then theres a very very slim chance that he can take me backstage and maybe run into Stingo.

Even if none of this goes according to plan, I'm still stoked to see Sting with his Soul Cages band, one of my favorites.

LL, I have a guitar lesson tomorrow afternoon with my dad's friend Steve, but that could be earlier and if that was the case we should go grab a coffee and talk police!!!! Send me an email and let me know when you're free!
