*snicker*

He's doing orchestral versions of songs from his whole career, I think.

I think I'll pass...

TORONTO - Sunnybrook Foundation today announced that international recording artists Sting, Sheryl Crow and The Canadian Tenors will perform at One Night LiveTM, presented by Sun Life Financial, on Thursday, May 21. Now in its second year, the concert will be held at the Air Canada Centre, and hosted by Sex and the City's ""Mr. Big"", Chris Noth. ""We are thrilled that such mega star talent have thrown their support behind Sunnybrook's Women & Babies Program,"" said Kevin Goldthorp, Chief Executive Officer of Sunnybrook Foundation. ""All of the proceeds raised by the concert will assist in building a new state-of-the-art home for our Women & Babies Program and help Sunnybrook continue to provide the very best care for our smallest patients and their mothers, when it matters most.""

erm... kinda weird press release thingy ("mr big"- purleeease),

but gordo has worked with sheryl crow before so they may do something together; will this be the rockier relaxed gordo who i know and love or will it be MOR gordo for whom i would burn it in the outside lane to avoid...?

nice work tho if you score a pass... which one piece of memorabilia would you ask him to scrawl on? if you get the chance...

Fave bit:

What do Sting and a restraining order have in common?

They're both worthless without the Police backing them up.
[/quote]

A ha ha ha ha.

Also the bit about how he had to 'stop in his tracks for hear of walking on the minors he'd laid'. Very clever.

I can't decide. My Police shirt? My dutch pressing of the Outlandos LP? My Klark Kent record?

i'd say zenyatta vinyl, or soul sages vinyl... something with light colours so you can see his scrawl, and then chuck it in a 12" record cover frame and preserve it for evah.........

i'm not sure how he'd take someone shoving a "don't care" 7" under his nose!

the restraining order gag is a keeper.

Sounds like you're on your own, dude.

But enjoy & hope you get a good scrawl.
If I'm holding a beer, some of it is probably going to get on him, you know?

Sunnybrooke is good people. I'm already a donor to that hospital. (It's where I had my close encounter with Rush). I'd like to support the cause, but I'm still kinda meh about it. These days, I sort of see Sting in the same light as that restarining order joke.
Congrats to you Ram. on the chance for the backstage pass. I can understand how stoked you must be. If I don't go to the show, I'd still be up for a little pre-gig get together while you're in town. Maybe I'll be able to get the TO Nutters out of the woodwork for you. The weather will be good and we certainly have enough planning time compared to my holiday attempt.
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.

I would have gone if it was just Stingo doing his thing.

I like Cheryl Crow but that is not a show that really grabs me.

(...don't laugh but I just got Willie Nelson tickets...and I get a wrist band with a USB that has THAT show Live on it.)

So cool.

I love Willie....check out his Country Man album, best Reggae.

Have a good time !

Holland tv

Postby giovanni on 25 Feb 2009 16:54

Will it be something similar to THE NIGHT OF THE PROMS Sting did many years ago in Holland? That was interesting, a full orchestra on his back, a great performance, where he also performed tracks out of his repertoire (I remember 'Summertime' if I don't get wrong).
I have the video of that performance by the way, I will check it out the tracklist and the date (around 1992 or something like that).
