PS Even if you could afford the tix, it appears that the show is already sold out. The venue holds only 4,000

In contrast, the only show where I saw ticket prices for the upcoming Clapton/Winwood tour is for the Denver show. Tickets are $50 and $150. Quite a bargain in comparison.

PS Anyone know who Macca's backing band is gonna be?

At that price, it had better be john, george and ringo!

ETA: At the top, so y'all won't miss it: McCartney's got a dedicated channel on Sirius right now, sort of how they did AC/DC Radio when Black Ice came out last year. It's channel 33, "Fireman Radio." Listened for a bit last night, it's really pretty good.

.................

Aw, that's kind of a bummer. Sort of takes the joy out of feeling like the artist really wants to play in front of a room, not that you're somehow lucky to have been chosen to get tix.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him, especially since he's playing so few dates lately. But by comparison? I think I paid about $100 for a great ticket to see Ringo's All Starrs. Who were incredible.

(And AC/DC charged all of $89 for lower-level seats, I might add...hey, they only released the second-highest selling album ever produced...

[Back in Black, which sold 42 million copies...in contrast to Dark Side of the Moon, which is behind it at 40 million....

but they're both behind Michael Jackson's 'Thriller', which sold 100 million (!)]

Just for fun, here's linkage: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_be ... _worldwide

Joking aside though, unless it's for charity (is it?) it's pants to charge so much for tickets.
Tickets for the whole three days of the Isle of Wight festi were only about £130 including camping and THAT was with The Police playing for gawds sake!

Sir Paul's backing band:

Postby Pre-Legacy A152 on 17 Feb 2009 21:48

Most likely Macca's backing band will be the bunch of guys he.s had
with him on his last couple of tours; Rusty Anderson on guitar,
Brian Ray on guitar and bass when Paul doesnt play bass, Paul
Wickens on keyboards, and Abe Laboriel Jr on drums if he.s not
still on tour with Clapton....
Even though I will be paying off the Reunion tour until I am in
the little-old-fans' home, I was NOT going to miss a 4000-seater
for Paul ...!

Rusty Anderson rules.

Also, I was just thinking. If the average ticket price was $500, Paul would be raking in $2 million for just this one tiny show.

The drummer on "Catbox Beach" is pretty fucking good.

Well, as in the case of the Police, he does not get all of the mazuma...
Anyway, ppl who go to Vegas have money to burn, and he plays a place totally inadequate for his fame and the number of people who want to see his show.

I don't think that, Heather settlement included, the grandchildren of Macca should worry. Maybe his great-grandchildren...
