On second thought, I think they should just start at the beginning, from their first single, and make a run for it through their entire catalog. How's that sound?

It would make for one hellofa long show, but hey, I plan on taking the next day off anyway if it's a weekday, so I can stay up way past my bedtime with no worries. :roll:

As much as I love Any Other Day (and its opening--smile--in yer sig!) I'll just put it this way: I think it's dated in a way that many other songs are not...imho

Yeah I love that song, but the line "my fine young son has tuned out gay" makes me wince every time!

Maybe they could change it to "my fine young son has turned out republican"! :wink:

Nothing Acheiving (although something tells me Sting can't reach that high), always loved the frenetic energy of that song, Andy's solo was cool too.

The list can go on and on. I bet there will be at least 5-6 songs they haven't played Live since the Zenyatta days, and hopefully some never played live before. Considering how many dreams of ours have recently come true, I'm pretty hopeful for new material too!

Hey-- new here, first post.

I agree about Omegaman and Darkness. Those are probably the two best non-Sting songs, and they definitely ought to play them.

I was wondering how they would handle some of the later songs without a keyboard player, until I found this video of "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic" from '82. There is a horn section, but otherwise Andy takes all the chords on guitar, and it works:

As for the "political songs"...I'm in the camp that thinks they ought to avoid them if possible. People are extremely sick of politics these days, and some of the old songs, in the modern context, could be a real downer for a lot of people who are just looking for a positive experience. We have enough politics crammed down our throats as it is. The one exception might be Spirits in the Material World, since it's kind of an anti-political, "pox on all your houses" lyric. If they introduced it by saying something like, "this song is dedicated to all politicians of all parties...Republican, Democrat, Labour, Tory, Nazi and Communist", people might be receptive to it. Otherwise, it could suck and wreck the good vibes.

--and stretching out with some jamming, would make for a very solid show that would blow people away.
