Info on Stewart's new book -- including a new title
am especially grateful for the serial comma.
I thought of you when I noticed it.
And about the alliteration, I guess all the Flag Spotting posts and Prule's Dentate Dinner Tales thread rubbed off on Stewart. Heh, heh. I hope he mentions us as one of his literary influences when he does his book tour.
I am more than happy to take credit. And royalties.

How about you, PRule?

1st: Orgasmic news! Sorry to be so base. But really. It is.

2nd: Lovin' Conroy's confident committed statement that there will, indeed, be book signings. :!:

I would pay good money to see you getting your book signed and talking to Stewart. :P

Have you noticed the full Title of said book...

Strange Things Happen: A Life with the Police, Polo, and Pygmies.
I realize that one of these days I'm going to get myself shot for this kind of thing, but I was just rereading the full title and need to say that the subtitle doesn't work for me. The rhythm is all off. They probably want The Police first because it's the most likely to grab attention, but rhythmically/aurally I really want it to go last: "Strange Things Happen: A Life with Polo, Pygmies, and The Police."

And for fuck's sake, capitalize the T.

I'm done. Thank you.

Perhaps it is meant to be some obscure literary polyrhythm.

(or just to avoid losing the band name if someone abbreviates the title in a link on some website)

Agree with the The and the comma.

Crap, I stand corrected. I just spent way too long searching through the Chicago Manual book and website, and the lowercase T before "Police" is technically correct even though it's not in running text. Though as with running text, I vehemently disagree.

I think it would flow better if it were simply "Strange Things Happen: Polo, Pygmies, and the Police."

Now, let me know if this isn't love:

Mr T. to Li'l T. in the car: "If you cannot make it to the table when Stewart does the book signing, I'll go get it signed for you". :D :D :D :D

Awwwww! Today it is the 12th anniversary of our first encounter as well...nice dinner out tonight!
