There is fires burning in NSW and have caught one in there

as for Victoria there was a fifteen year old but was catch shortly after he lit and put out

for major not as jet......details are scares

no one knows for sure how many fires were lit

just remember that it was high 40c for many days

the problem is more high temps are expected over the weekend and still 30 fires are still burning

they say now it could be close to 300 deaths but no one knows for sure at this moment

we are not building homes any more but hole towns

for those who do not understand

most know how to protect their homes and when to leave there was no warning for these are now the worst fires in the world on recorded

just be there for that is only what one can do even from across the world
Kiss me you fool
Hopping around like a floozie
A town my man and I used to go to on weekends away has basically been wiped off the map. It was a gorgeous little place in the middle of the bush, and now it's gone. And so many people killed, it's just devastating, the worst bushfires Victoria's ever experienced. I can't even watch the news any more, it's heartbreaking. Thanks for thinking of us Shan.
:D Am only using a 'smiley' because this was a good post to see, Larissa!
I only have web-access here at this job-library-and wasn't here from last Sat. 'til today/Thursday. Tuesday, was having Lunch w/ my friend Mandy from Brisbane (she & her family are living here/OH now), and was expressing my concern.....
It has been just so awful to hear of & contemplate, it has been horrendous news. I am thankful y'all are safe, am still praying for the folks affected, and the folks who have lost loved ones.
Thank all you Aussies for the updates as to y'all's safety!

Stay safe Aussies.

While many fires were deliberately lit, and they think they have caught at least one fire lighter, as Visions said, it was 40+ celcius for several days in a row, and on top that they had high winds, and lightening storms (essentially giant sparks).

Australia just burns well. It's part of life here.
Seeking info on getting a TV show produced, and the best way to become rich in the process.

My heart goes out to all involved like you wouldn't believe. Former hubby was a firefighter, as were/is his father and all 4 brothers; I have dozens of friends in the profession and certainly admire them. Living in so cal, firestorms are a yearly event - last one came within 2 miles of my house. But this is a weird thing - not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but...- during the last firestorm, the LA Times did a major series on how the Aussies are trained in how to defend their homes and are at least as competent as the trained professionals. Didn't sit well with many a professional firefighter here (or maybe anywhere in US). Spooky. "Backdraft Down Under" anyone? Ok, I'm ready to get creamed for this post, and I sure hope I'm not even close in my fears - hoping there wasn't an agenda there anywhere - most arsonists just want the thrill and notoriety - but anyone who knows anything about California fires is familiar with how many have been started by professional FF's who were either disgruntled and/or had a hero complex.

Continuing to hear of the folks that are being allowed back to view their burned out towns/residences. Can't help to keep on saying a prayer for all these families and the rescue agencies.

Sad to say, nothing would surprise me. Having just visited Yellowstone, it wouldn't surprise me if some sicko type folks occasionally set them just to make federal land uninhabitable, so it can be taken by logging interests.
