The Police will never record in the studio again and I suspect they won't do another tour. A reunion for some charitable cause in a few years wouldn't surprise me but definitely no new Police album.

I have mixed feeling about Sting's new studio adventure. Sacred Love, his most recent non-lute studio album was disappointing and I hope the results are better. Not a hard goal, actually to be better than that.

The no idea what it will sound like bit, if it isn't just fluffery, doesn't make one optimistic of the results.

On the other hand, he is a talented song writer and I have like some of his work. Like Stewart's solo work much more but it could be good.

Plus, it may be that the Police tour has reminded him of that music and he will make something good like Paul McCartney did in the Flaming Pie album, his first after the Beatles Anthology reminded him of how the Beatles made music. I know TOWOS also enjoyed Flaming Pie and I hope for a similar effect for all of the solo music of the Boys now.

And Yes, I Worship Flaming Pie. If one member of the Police could do something like that, it would be amazing.

But I don't see them doing an album together, and I think they have made it pretty clear (ahem...Mr Summers? You too?)

Hi E. Sorry about your rough week. Rough one for me too.

Flaming Pie is a great disc. Paul's best since at least the early 1980s with Pipes of Peace and the other one like it that I can't recall. And the second best solo Beatles album in the last 2 decades behind only George's postomous Brainwashed.

I think it will be another lute album. He hasn't put the thing down, hasn't gotten tired of it. You know sometimes Sting dabbles in something and quickly grows out of it but not with the lute. Maybe not of the same exact flavor, or flavour, but I have felt for some time that another album involving a lute will be forthcoming. A few other commenters on sting.com also felt a lute album was in the works.
