Spectacle US v. UK -- yes, differences in the broadcasts

. . .

Sorry. Lost in thought.

Apologies for the fact that this is all piecemeal, but I still haven't had the chance to watch either show in full. But thanks to a chat with Dietmar, a *major* difference noted:

The US broadcast includes "Sunshine of Your Love."

The UK broadcast doesn't.

I'm afraid I don't have the resources right now, cillae. But Divemistress has uploaded an mp4 of the US show here:

and if you email me your address, I can send you a disc of the UK show (though thus far that I've seen, the US show is winning on material). Just know that it's going to take a bit of time.

So other than the extended STEWART intro, is there any reason to get the UK version if you have the US version?
There is no bigger gong.

That's enough reason for me to want the UK version.

Can anyone confirm STEWART pointing to his left during said intro?

If so, then I must aquire the UK version. Unless the Canadian version has it.

He was WOOKIE spotting! :D

Tamadude: You can only see Elvis during the introduction. When Stewart comes on stage, het waves with both hands in an odd way. I don't see any pointing. Unfortenately...

Yup, no pointing, Wookie. Just some arms waving about.

While the US bit only has Elvis saying "Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Stewart Copeland," the UK extended intro is Elvis talking more first (saying he doesn't have his autograph, he's loud, he's animated, he's done a bunch of stuff, blahblah, ladies and gentlemen . . . ."

So far that I've seen, EQ, no. There might be gems hidden in the Andy/Sting sections -- I don't know yet (though I'm not holding my breath either). But aside from the nicer SC intro in the UK show, the US show is far more complete with more Stewart talking and the inclusion of "Sunshine."

No.

From what I heard by those who woz their, there is a lot that we NY-lastweek-absentees will never see because of edits - ELTSDIM by Costello and Stewart doing his very best to Royally Piss Off Werewolf in Paris (and succeeding to RPO even the Traveling Telecasterist)

:? I was hoping it would be more Jay Leno style where you see the person walk in and everything.
