New LES CLAYPOOL tour!!!!

New LES CLAYPOOL tour!!!!

Postby sockii on 14 Jan 2009 14:09

Ok, so who's coming with me to the Electric Factory show March 27?

http://www.lesclaypool.com/tour/

My one caveat: you will NOT GET ME ON THE FLOOR at that show. I will happily camp out on the balcony in my fave corner just behind/side stage for the best view. And more importantly, to stay clear of the asshat moshers and crowd surfers who always make Les shows there a living hell on the floor.

Excellent.

Will probably be Terminal 5 on 3/28 for me, but I definitely want to catch this.

Thanks for the info, sock!
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Um, yeah... been there, done that. I'm with you on the balcony. Do I need to say that I'm in?

New album is out on March 17th, btw.

Thanks for finding that one Sockii. I got an alert yesterday about the album and I checked his site for news and there was nothing. Did the tour just get announced today?

Here is the post about the album:

One more edit: Guess I'm going to see Stan Ridgeway on 3/27 and Les on 3/28. Will be hanging in Philly both nights if anyone wants to make plans!

Ooh bugger, forgot that was the 27th. Well, maybe Les on the 28th will be the better plan (I have to check on getting Ridgeway tix myself...)

Sorry Sock... I fucked up as usual. I'll be doing Electric Factory for Les on Friday 3/27 and Stan at World Cafe on 3/28. Party! I hope that's what you're planning as well. I'd love to hit both Claypool shows honestly, but I've already got the Ridgeway tix.

Besides... Supercat is coming to the Ridgeway show too. Guess she'll be in town on Friday now as well. No way she's missing this!

De nada.

BTW, Moeskido rocks.

He has no preference, so I think he might take the day off so we can do the Friday/Philly show instead. I'd hate to miss you bitches.

OK, I just got my Ridgway ticket, at last & at least.

No more GA was available at the front, so I grabbed a single right behind the audio console (404), if anyone else is still looking for tix to that and wants to sit together...

Shit. I didn't know you were doing that right now! I have an extra ticket, which I thought I emailed you about.

If anyone wants to go to Ridgeway, email me!

Oh bugger I'm an idiot and I forgot that.

I've mentioned I've had like no brain this month so far, right? Or at least no long-term memory...

Well, I'll take your extra GA if anyone wants my reserved seat... :P

My ticket isn't GA... sorry! It's up on the balcony in the front seats of the section. I'm going with my boss and he isn't a GA kind of guy and he sprung for the tix, so I really didn't have a choice. I would care to guess that the ticket would be free for whoever speaks for it, but I can't guarantee it. He doesn't usually ask me or my friends for money.

Here is the press release for the album:

Les Claypool will release yet another work of art, Of Fungi and Foe, on March 17 on Prawn Song Records.

Of Fungi and Foe is the expansion of material Claypool has recorded over the past few years for the video game “Mushroom Men” and the motion picture “Pig Hunt“. Being inspired by these 2 projects Claypool decided to keep creating and turn it into an album. The song “Mushroom Men on this release is a more in depth version of the theme song from the video game. Additionally a jam session with Gogol Bordello’s charismatic front-man Eugene Hutz turned into the track “Bite Out Of Life”.

Since his last album release, 2006’s Of Whales and Woe, Claypool has been busy with his films, scoring other’s films and video games while having fun out on tour. This album is a collection of songs inspired by the projects he has been working on over the past few year.

Tracklisting:

1. Mushroom Men
2. Amanitas
3. Red State Girl
4. Booneville Stomp
5. What Would Sir George Martin Do
6. you Can’t Tell Errol Anything
7. Bite Out Of Life (featuring Eugene Hutz)
8. Kazoo
9. Primed by 29
10. Pretty Little Song
11. Rosco

Stewart, for the love of all that is holy...

When the three of you are finished with your current projects, PLEASE, call Les and Trey and give us a taste of the good life with Oysterhead. *Some* of us missed it the first time around and I will not die happy (yes, I'm a drama queen) unless I see you guys play together. Would love a new album of course, but a few jam shows for the fans would be simply lovely. Thank you.

There. I said it. Back to my lair...
