You know, I'd been thinking I'd go see the next U2 tour. I haven't seen them since 1987, since the Joshua Tree tour...and that album remains one of my all-time favorites.

Am not as crazy about the more recent material, but in all honesty I haven't heard much past the 'Pop' era.

Ah you did well to stop in 87 Dive. That was - urm - angry, uplifting, and magnificent in London. Saw them on zooropa, or whatever the hell fandango it was with lemons and shit a few years later and hated it so much I cried. I'm tedious about U2 though - I'm one of those boring old hags who bleats on about how Boy and October are two of the finest albums ever made ;-)

It looks like he is holding it into a plastic basin with the drumsticks. Maybe to obtain a sound effect? Or is he washing it with Tide?
Judging by the tan lines on his Infinite Legs, the period should be Montserrat, correct.

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
I can't fucking wait to hear it and get news of the tour.
Today's U2 google news alert has Bono quoted as saying the concert stage will be a feat of engineering not done before!
Not gonna think about what that's going to cost us in ticket prices. Even the cheap seats are worthwhile when it comes to U2.

But I don't see myself flying to Canada so don't smite me Stewart :) you'll still be the guys that got me to leave the country for a rock concert :)

Without having seen this topic, I was pondering along these same lines this morning. (Hey, it's a long commute, okay? I gotta be thinking of something.)

I don't know anything about this stuff, but I believe this has a lot to do with his book. I think there must be some agreement with the publisher that prevents Stewart from writing or talking about any material that he plans to put in the book. The publisher would have exclusive English rights to that stuff. This would also explain why Stewart is doing French, German and who knows, maybe Swahili interviews, but avoiding the English speaking media. And that would keep him from telling us anything meaty here, too.

I know he spilled a lot of beans in the Gert interviews, but it was on a French site and it wasn't written. The written rendition of his remarks were in French. So, technically there was no written English material.

All you who really know about these legal matters, please feel free to blow apart my theory.

So Gio,

(you bastard) Are you offically announcing Stewart as the new drummer for U2?!

Is that what the "yes, I'm" statement is?!

As in, "Yes, I'm replacing Larry! I love touring, pointing at flags and seeing all of you nutters nearly every day!"

(provoke, provoke)

Don't bust me, Sockii! (shhhhhhhh, I'm just trying to provoke.) Mr. Chatchka would feel this was blasphemy too, although for a different reason. He is about U2, like I am about Stewart and The Police.
