Sting's ~stunning~ new look

Postby Chatchka on 12 Jan 2009 22:05

What gathering? Are there Nutters converging?

ETA: So that this isn't a total jack...Sting, with any color hair/beard looks far better than most 57 year old men I see, so I'm not going to complain. And, there are certainly more ridiculous things he could wear. Personally, I would prioritize his "looks" in this way.

1. Clean shaven, blond hair (classic)
2. Graying beard, blond hair (tourzilla look)
3. This new color combo (auburn? ish?)
4. That wierd Dune-ish apricot mullet with the spiky thingies

 I know that posting here would have been a waste of time, but if your ideal man is a werewolf in a see-through shirt, hey, who am I to say anything...

:o Wow....I almost didn't reconize him!! IMHO it isn't terrible, though I think he looks better w/lighter colored hair, he really should ditch the scruff!! He does make one think of a wolfman, or an arab!!!

I don't really care what he does to his hair...even if I don't particularly care for it....

But that shirt is just really, really wrong!

*shudder*

I got about 3 or 4 phone calls last night and even ended up putting Laurie on a conference call with Phyllis so we could laugh and scream.

I didn't mind the beginning of the beard when it was just a tad more than a 5:00 shadow. The current look is just a bit overboard and makes him look older.

Anyway as I said on someone's facebook page, let's be glad (as I think Sting clearly was) that BRUCE got that award, and not Miley Cyrus, because that would've been a sign of the apocalypse.

My favorite commentary is here:

Not fond of the hair color because it seems too harsh but yeah, it's the shirt that makes me shake my head.

I think this was the look Sting was going for. The stylist just didn't get the hair dye matched up right.

From the TampaBay.com via Police website thread:

Reporter to Sting: What's the deal with the beard?

"I thought it looked good, so I kept it," he said, after I guessed that Sting grew the beard for the Paris opera he, son Joe Sumner and Elvis Costello recently performed, Welcome the the Voice. "And nobody recognizes me . . . its wonderful." Isn't that just like a rock star; move heaven an Earth to be world famous, then systematically destroy your leading-man looks to blend in.
--
I think he likes not being recognised after the madness of the Police tour. True what he says about not being recognised - he walked past me in the street outside Waterstones in Manchester with the beard (he was doing a book signing). I thought "I know him" but couldnt really place him! He was just wandering down the street with one aide - no obvious security etc.
Is anybody alive in here?
