With advanced apologies to Dive, lest she swallow her tongue again.

Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland are reported to have zero/no new albums/tours for 2009.

Notice, we have not heard much from either - in a big way.
Makes it sound like they'll just be sitting around til 2010, whacking off and waiting for the phone to ring. Yeah, Stewart hasn't made any sweeping "official" announcements (has he ever really? and just how many albums/tours has he announced as a *composer*?) -- and considering the confidentiality agreements in standard office contracts, I'd be shocked if Stewart *weren't* up to his eyeballs in legalese from the tour/band and the publisher -- but a symphony and a book are fairly sizable projects. When he's not whacking off and waiting for the phone to ring, I'm guessing he's keeping busy.
I figure when Stewart, Sting, and/or Andy have something he/they can say, he/they will. In Stewart's case, if we're really lucky, he might even tell us before it's over.
DM, you captured my thoughts on the subject but with much greater eloquence than I could ever muster.
Another thing that bugged me was the Paris restaurant clip.
"Sting! Sting! Trudie! Sting!...'ey, who ees dee short blonde guy in dee white pants? Some servant maybee. Who cares?...Sting! Sting! Trudie!..."
Sting can't get over himself, but it's kind of hard to blame the guy. The media can't get over him, either.
Poor Andy! Not being hounded by the press is a good thing, but the situation on that video has to hurt a little.
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.
