Hey folks, penicillin is on the way! Wouldn't you know it, Comcast picked *last night* to start up a bunch of systemwide service outages in my area....augh!

Also, one of the pieces of software I use to convert programs from Tivo was coughing up hairballs, but it appears to be working properly at the moment.

With any luck I'll have a version on Gigasize within the hour. The usual caveats: a.) If Gio, Stewart or any of the associated personnel, including but not limited to Jeff Seitz' grandmother, wants this thing gone I'll remove the link. b.) If the show were available commercially we'd all buy a copy, and we all will if it ever *does* become available.

(p.s. are you freaking KIDDING ME? Like I wouldn't be all over buying anything of Elvis-Freaking-Costello's that's proshot instead of a grainy TV image?

Ahem. Just sayin'. :))

No prob! Least I can do after others have so generously shared of their collections.

You know, I was thinking of something else. People would probably like DVD copies of this. I can't do all of them, but I can send three or four discs to people who can help copy.

Send me an email if you want a DVD or you can copy the DVD for others. I'll set up a tree of sorts and email folks back with a timeline and all that good stuff.

Yes, we can do this internationally, if folks are willing...we have at least three or four Nutters on every continent but Africa and Antarctica at the moment...

[Whoops! Sorry. Didn't mean to hit SUBMIT yet as the file isn't quite finished. It's getting there tho...should be only a little while longer...]

Will the DVD be better quality than the version you are putting up on gigasize?

Yep. Anything I Gigasize that's video is MP4, 640x480, file size about 480 megs so people aren't downloading all day. That works fine for viewing on one's desktop.

I can copy a DVD that's identical to what I've got on TiVo, though...about 4 gigs' worth of pixels. Better resolution and suited to watching on telly.

(Did anyone ever get you the FC DVD? I handed out some copies in Philly and I thought folks were going to copy, but maybe we should do a tree for that too if people still need.)

I did manage to get a copy of the FC DVD.

I would like a copy of the Spectacle DVD and I think I could get around to sending out a few copies. :)

Likewise. Greetings from the technologically retarded UK, where we managed to watch and record last month, but couldn't get it into a shareable format. Sorry!

Happy to distribute hard copy this side of the pond if someone can get old school DVD to me. (Note to kind souls who didn't bitch about how long it took me to do earlier ones, I now have the wherewithall available 24/7...)

Sorry for the host of technical problems causing delays, folks...finally got the file off the Tivo and into MP4 format, and started it uploading to Gigasize while I ran out to do an errand. By the time I got home my cats had managed to knock the magnetic plug adapter off my MacBookPro and the thing had run out of battery and shut down without completing the file. SO, I'm re-starting the upload...

Thanks for bearing with me.

Another note - and I'll edit the above comment as well - do indicate in email if you're willing to burn and ship overseas, which can be a little spendy. I'll volunteer to do Australia, so I can get in good with Aussies who may send me Paul Kelly bootlegs...or, um, because I already have a postage meter that'll work out for that. Yeah, that's the ticket :)

Hmmmm. Come to think of it, smudge may send me Paul Kelly bootlegs, too...

Just kidding, seriously. I'll be glad to send to the London coven (and smax ;)) c/o Smudge so you guys can copy it. I'll send the FC DVD too just in case.

JESUS. *Finally*. Got it downloaded & MP4ized and was re-uploading *again* when I realized the MP4 was 400 megs...and the Gigasize limit is 300.

So. Had to MP4ize again to get it down under 300 megs...doesn't look too grainy or awful, although I had to change the resolution to 512x352.

Enjoy. At last.

Anybody else have Comcast? It's in the TV Entertainment section of ON DEMAND. I watched it twice Tuesday evening and once more Wednesday.

Those who live in central time zones may have already noticed that Sundance's viewing times are Pacific, so plan accordingly!

My wife thinks Dietmar gets way too much screen time
