Oh, man, I was just thinking about this this morning...it ROCKS! I do know that Dive is up against some pretty severe gift-making deadlines, but if it's something readily at hand, I would love to hear it again this year!

No pressure, of course.

Hey folks, here it is!

http://www.gigasize.com/get.php?d=fccpw4shjwb

Actually, I'd been thinking about updating it for 2008 - and since I bought some new CDs out the other day with Indy, Kiki and Starblade, I may have a Vol 2 ready shortly. (I dump stuff into my ITunes directory and then use a Roxio product to turn it into one long audio file. It's really not all that hard to do, once I get the song order straightened around.)

Enjoy!

HA! Rules!

I've gotten two or three emails from people sending tunes for this year's Xmas comp. Tell you what - I already have over three hours of stuff queued up and ready to go - but I'll wait another day or two to burn it all down and post on Gigasize.

SO. If you've got anything for this year's mix, hit that email!

Got some fun ones coming up by Sonic Youth, Blind Boys of Alabama with Tom Waits, Flaming Lips, Decemberists, Big Star, Mrs. Elvis Costello as well as Napoleon Dynamite himself, James Brown, a little samba and mambo, even some stuff in Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Japanese and German. Hey, we ARE a multinational conglomerate around here.

Glad y'all are enjoying hearing these as much as I'm liking compiling 'em.

Oh yeah, the link:

[ETA: $%^&* - Gigasize has a new pop-up ad that directs you away from the free-upload-link page and into one that makes you pay to link your file! Which sucks, and I may go to some other service...gonna try once more using an industrial strength pop up blocker...]

FINALLY, here it is...y'all let me know if it won't work and I'll go chew some Giga ass. ;)

[edited to remove non-working link]

p.s. I can probably process it again if there are more songs folks really wanna hear. Or you could just upload them in this thread yourself :)

p.s. again I can post a disc image of this if folks want to throw these into the CD burning software of their choice, and add tunes of their own for listening at home. Please note I won't be selling or marketing any of this stuff - these are all songs that I own copies of and this project is intended to be shared with my personal friends for personal use. I'll delete these links after Xmas again, to prevent any trouble for SC.net, Stewart, Gio, etc.

I may be offline the next few days, have to go visit the in-laws in Virginia and they may not have Internet...so this may be the last chance I get to spread the goodwill...:) Love, Dive

This is REALLY off-thread, but abouts where in Virginia are y'all headed? My folks are coming up here for Christmas, but as a Virginian, I am just being curious...(here in Ohio, these Yankees call it nosy!)

[bump] cause I've been listening to this myself, and some of these tunes are really starting to grow on me...particularly the Low one, and the one Smax sent...plus I'd really like to know what Weihnachtsmann is about...

Well, it's that time again.

(Note to those just joining us: This thread started in 2007. There were mixes for that year and 2008 that I'll probably re-post just for the hell of it.)

In the meantime, if you've got stuff for this year, send away. I just picked up 'Metal Xmas' featuring a track with Lemmy and Grohl covering 'Run Rudolph Run.' Also this year's Underground Garage Xmas album will feature heavily, I think.

ETA: 2007: http://www.gigasize.com/get.php?d=1qjgkp3pvzd

2008: http://www.gigasize.com/get.php?d=1z3dmyxmj3c

Song lists are both earlier in this thread.
