Presale Tickets

So we can't get our code before the sale starts? That's stupid! I want me $100 bucks back...

It takes me 2 days to (after taxes) earn $100... and now it seems wasted. If it's not going to get me better seats, it could have gone toward paying for them ($450, ouch!).

The paid members even get a chatroom

lol... kidding...

Listen, I have been thinking that no one but pre-sale code holders (ie paid members) will have access to tix tomorrow. Just like today you had to have a password for the Best Buy presale tix. I think when the PUBLIC tix go on sale is when you can pay to be a member of the fan club at the same time.

What would bother me is you don't receive a passcode until the tickets go on sale. So if they are arriving by email, you'd better be hitting "check mail" or whatever constantly right before & as the sale starts!

I dunno about y'all, but I really feel for the Canada/New York fans who are the guinea pigs in all this. I think Snare may be right, but what a nerve-wracking way to have to find out.

Well I'm not sure if Gio can let Stewart know how this is all be played out at the new police site. But, along with many others are pissed that we were told if we bought the membership we would be able to take advantage of tickets before anyone else. Which is untrue.

yeah, i dont want to b*tch until the chickens are hatched, but this pre-sale thing seems like a really sh*tty way to go about all of this. just put them on sale on ticketmaster starting on a certain date and leave it at that, then we all get an equal crack at getting tiks. i just cant put $100 out there and not even know if i am going to get tickets. that's ludicrous.

Erk. From the Vancouver presale page at Ticketmaster.com...

[quote]Additional Information:

Current Police Tour Fan Club members:

Enter your passcode where requested.

Not a Member Yet?

Beginning February 14, 2007 at 12pm, purchase tickets before the general public by ordering The Police Tour Fan Club Membership during the presale as part of your ticket purchase transaction (an additional $120 CDN will be added to your order).

Then, in approximately 10 business days, The Police Tour Fan Club will send you an email with instructions on how to activate your new membership.

So it IS true they're going to make people wait until the TPT.com website coughs up a presale code for existing members, before they can buy tickets. The only wild card here is that there's verbiage on the TPT.com website about buying the ticket by going through TPT.com, which may link up to a different spot in the queue.

Here's hoping so, although I really feel for the NY/Canada people who are going to have to suffer some uncertainty through this process.

Wow.... so you WILL be able to access the presale tix if you agree to buy a membership as well... that sucks!! So everyone who bought memberships yesterday could've waited to see what (if any) tix they could get BEFORE paying their $100 membership. Not so bad if you pay $100 to be a fan club member & are happy with all the perks... not great for those who signed up mainly for the presale opportunity!

And scalpers will also have access to the tickets this way, they will just have to buy a membership along with the tix... but at the prices they charge, its nothing for them! Seems whacko to me!

As someone else posted... I miss the days when you would line up outside & paid your dues (battling the weather, fatigue, etc) to get first crack at tickets. Now, as with everything else in this world, its money that dictates...

I am almost glad I can't afford the $100 right now because if I paid it & didn't get tickets, I would be really peeved, even with all the other perks you get.

We've been discussing this over at The Police Station, and as I have stated from the very beginning, I think the $100 subscription fee is absolutely ludicrous. It reaks of nothing more than the fans being taken advantage of, and despite how much I love the group and support them, I absolutely CAN NOT support such a blatant money-grubbing tactic. I know many of you have already given up your money and that's okay if it works for you, but for me, it would just never sit well -- regardless of whether paying the $100 fee guaranteed me a presale ticket or not. The tickets are already expensive enough as it is, without having to pay such a high price to use an official site.

It's really too bad that we're getting so severely penalized for being fans...

I'm shocked at how much of a mess this all is. I think I'm going to ask for a refund now.

Being a bit selfish, hopefully this will be all ironed out before the European dates get announced - sorry to hear that it sounds like you guys have had a bit of a time of it.

For what it's worth, I would happily get stuck into the premium membership thing if it didn't seem that it has been a bit ballsed up at the first hurdle.

Teething problems? You could use that as an excuse, I suppose.

But from the outside looking in, it seems that a website with the amount of muscle and money behind it, like this one does, would have thought a touch more about how to sell the tickets better to the fans of the group involved.

After all, it is call thepoliceTOUR.com, isn't it?
