It was kind of surreal, tell you the truth. I mean, you could hardly believe it was happening, much less that we had all gotten tickets and flown in from every corner of the country and were all there, reveling in our collective fan-mania.
Seriously, it was absolutely awesome to get to meet other fans...there was some conversation about folks off the various forums trying to get together and attend a few shows together over the summer. Can't wait.
One fun story I don't think we told yet was that, while we were waiting in line, we were literally on the other side of the wall from Stewart's drum kit. We could hear it loud and clear, so of course several of us lined up outside with our ears cupped to the wall, to see whether we could tell which songs they were going to play. (You know you're a real fan when you can pick out tunes based on the drum and bass tracks alone...) We got some photos, but there were posters for Nelly Furtado all over the wall outside of the Whisky, so some of the pix apparently look like we're trying to stick our hands up her nostrils or something.
